Incredible overnighter up north back in May.

Started from Poolewe, taking the road round to Dundonnell, then off-road south into Fisherfield Forest (spoiler alert, not a forest) for a night camped outside the iconic Shenavel bothy with stunning sunset and sunrise, before working our way back via river crossings, hike a bike, and lovely single-track to Poolewe.

The views when the valley opens up over Dubh Loch and the Fionn Loch are something else 😍😍

Lil summer summering ☀️⛺️🪁

GBDuro, 2000km, 32,000m | 8 days, 14 Hours and 52mins

3rd Overall and 1st Woman - considering I started out with a sprained wrist, not sure how I turned that around 😅 luckily the legs had loads in them and as I warmed up to the off-road I felt stronger and stronger in the legs and the pain eased on the wrist.

That being said it was the hardest ultra race I think I have done in my life (so far...). Mainly because of the off-road elements to it, which included numerous hike-a-bike sections and difficult technical MTB trails.

I am so glad I took a hardtail for this and it gave me great preparation for race plans next year.

Spent this past week sleeping and eating, waiting for the sensation to come back to my hands. HUGE props to @wtgperkins rkins for being the best soundboard for my venting frustration during the race and driving the length of the country to drop me off and pick me up 💙 thanks does not begin to cover it.

Thanks to @mason_cycles cycles for getting the bike ready for me and sorting out the kit to get me through it! And for all the messages of support throughout - Huge highlight here 🙌

Thanks to all the photographers who were such great chat and a real boost for my mood everytime I saw them 🫶

Checkpoints are the one thing missing from this race - people around you shouting support is truly what gets you through it. Thanks to @play.it.loud for all the lovely voicenotes 🥹

- NO MECHANICALS (unheard of?!)
- Wales MTB trails, so so much fun!
- All the cute sheep and deer 🦌

- Bogs, too many
- Multiple crashes in mud

Went on a springtime adventure from the doorstep, lived in Goodlids for the weekend, reflected on slowing down, and came to the conclusion that home ain’t bad after all.
