Annual Whistler bike park trip with some new and some old friends. Impressed by the group. We are all adults now and it’s refreshing to see everyone pitching in with meals, sharing grocery shopping, keeping the condo clean and dishes done. Some guys ride more than others on a regular basis but with a little BMX in all of us we get down the hill at a good pace even with a few turn bars thrown in. Crabapple Hits is a big jump line a few of us checked off and the easy thing to talk about as a highlight but really the whole trip is what makes the memories. In a few weeks/months a video will be out documenting it all and I hope it comes out as fun as it was. Not a lot of photos from me but did get a 90’s TNT reunion, dinner with a MTB legend, Long Islanders, rental insurance paying off and a video of a big jump that is a lot bigger in person. taken in Whistler Mountain Bike Park by @alan.foster.bikeguy

New toy for the Fosters and we are stoked! Flew to CO to pick it up and took our time driving back. Goal of the new RV was to downsize and be more mobile, after shopping around big vans/small RV’s we went for a 24 ft B+ rig. Comparing our old one, 9ft shorter and 1.5ft more narrow, we can now get into most parking spots. Excited to get a bike mount system inside a back garage storage so bikes and gear will be inside.
Explored Colorado Springs, visited friends in Castle Rock, met Camila and boyfriend in Zion, met up with friends in Lake Mead and then home.
Garden of the Gods drive, Angels Landing hike, Narrows hike, Luke Grimes concert, a few bike rides, a few World Cup games, some amazing views of big rocks, a lake day and seeing some friends made it a great trip.

Randomly yesterday I grabbed a @freedombmx_mag mag from my pile of duplicates and spotted this advert I remembered, it wasn’t until today that I realised yesterday was the Blue Falcons birthday and that it appears I’m jumping on the bandwagon of all the other outlets that posted BF yesterday.

Way I see it birthday or not you don’t need an excuse to post @brianfosterbmx pics.

Who remembers or had a pair of these Airwalks that Brian & @alan.foster.bikeguy designed? I know I did (in white) and I never hired another pair of bowling shoes ever again. #notvegan

Ahhhh @dirtyfest I’m sure everyone has seen all the photos and unbelievable legends just walking around, it is absolutely amazing what the DirtyFest crew has created. Kudos! The age range and eras are wild, in the same day I rode MTB’s with Perry Kramer and then chatted with Matti Cranmer, they are probably 40yrs apart.
Who is the one person that would shock you to shake hands with? For me this weekend, it was Andy Patterson, for whatever reason, it shocked me.
Great weekend with morning MTB rides, checking out old
restored bikes, hanging out all day , listening to Bob Haro play live music, pit bike shenanigans then camping in the car just like the beginning.

PSA - I’m not sure if it’s an over 50 thing but over the last few months I’ve learned how important compression socks are for long periods of sitting. Regardless how lame they look, do it.
Back track 4 months ago and I drove across the country then hopped on a plane to Brazil which caused a blood clot in my leg. Docs said it was caused by long periods of sitting. Not good. Blood thinners for 3+ months meant no MTB, BMX or moto. Glad I’m past it but from all I’ve talked to compression socks really do help prevent the issue.
Jury is still out if over knee or under knee, I couldn’t commit to the over knee, baby steps. by @alan.foster.bikeguy

A few old BMX dudes have started a fun annual gathering. Good times! I can’t decide what I like better, the deep chair lift conversations, having a beer with guys I haven’t seen in 20+ years, morning coffee at the vans, bbq at the vans or maybe the Whistler trails doing turn bars. Ski morning, bike afternoon, hot springs and camping evenings was the bucket list plan and @mulligan4130 and I pulled it off. I haven’t non-RV camped in a long time but Keith is a pro so it was more comfortable than expected. Also got to hang out with Mammoth locals @gforcepow and @bmxhippy. Backstory, 1989-91 time frame I was racing NBL races with Keith, riding the early years of Sheep with Sean and sharing a bedroom at the POW house with Ralph. 35 years ago…..man I love what BMX has brought us!
- zoom in on my right thumb in the 1st photo, that doesn’t seem safe.
- Keith still has the same Airwalk clip shoes I gave him in about 96
- Banana hammocks dude jumped in our gondola for an uncomfortable ride
