20 YEARS! 🎬🐇

Today marks 20 years of working with White Rabbit Productions! @whiterabbitproductions_

I’m incredibly proud and grateful to be part of one of Salt Lake City’s most respected video production companies, and to have spent the last two decades contributing to their nearly 40-year legacy in an industry I love.

My history with White Rabbit actually goes back a little further. I was just 18 when I first cold-knocked on Sam’s door, looking for advice on how to break into the industry. He was generous with his time and guidance from the very beginning, years before I ever had the opportunity to work alongside him.

Over the years, we’ve had some incredible adventures, worked on amazing projects, and collaborated with so many talented people along the way.

Sam, Aron, and Diana have become like family, and I can’t thank them enough for their friendship, support, mentorship, and all the opportunities we’ve shared over the years. @samrabbit @aronprigg @diluvs2stamp

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who’s been part of the journey, and excited for what’s still ahead.

What started by getting up on its legs at the Utah International Film Festival @theutahfilmfestival earlier this year really hit its stride at the 2026 Zepstone International Film Festival, where Nothin’ But Bogeys was an Official Selection, Round Winner, Annual Finalist, Nominee and ultimately took home Best Original Screenplay Short!

Huge thanks to our incredibly talented Zepstone table read cast: Ischa Bee @ischabee , Shane Morrisun @shanemorrisun , Tony Rivas @cynesthete , and Harrison Timm @harrisonctimm for bringing these characters to life and delivering an incredibly funny performance, and to everyone who joined us in the audience and shared their laughter and support.

And another huge thank you to Alicia @aliciaofarmer and John Farmer and the entire Zepstone team @zepfestofficial for giving us the opportunity to share this story with a live audience and for creating a space for indie filmmakers.

Now we’d love to share it with an even bigger audience.

Experimenting with some Unreal environments on the LED wall at SLCC today.

Environment 1: Exterior Cave - Carrara
Environment 2: Interior Cave - Carrara
Environment 3: Florence Cathedral
Environment 4: Riverside / Mountains

One of the challenges we’re exploring with ARTIFEX is how to seamlessly marry real-world practical locations, like our mountain cave, with digital environments built using a combination of photogrammetry and Fab assets.

We’re also experimenting with Unreal’s latest motion-capture tools, which can turn a recorded performance into 3D character animation. That opens up some really interesting possibilities for previz: blocking actors, exploring camera positions and lenses and working through production logistics in the digital space.

For a small indie project, especially a historical fantasy like ARTIFEX @artifexfilm, I really believe workflows like this could be a game changer. The ability to solve more creative and technical problems in pre-production can potentially save valuable time and resources, and lead to more creative outcomes.

Very grateful to Jake Dickey @leerafel and the entire Film Production department at SLCC @saltlakecommunitycollege for the incredible instruction and for giving me the space to experiment, learn, fail, fail, troubleshoot, and work through these new challenges.

There’s a LOT to learn, but that’s half the fun.

Jake Dickey @leerafel isn’t afraid to get a little dirty for his students. Whatever it takes to sell the shot.

Week 3 of Virtual Production at Salt Lake Community College @saltlakecommunitycollege and I seriously can’t get enough of this class. The more we experiment with the technology, the more storytelling potential I see. VP is evolving incredibly fast, and it’s exciting to keep learning, experimenting, and finding new ways to put these tools to work.

Grateful for the dedicated instructors at SLCC, always willing to roll the extra mile. *No instructors were harmed in the making of this lesson.

Five years in a row!
