As many of of you may know, I became unemployed in June 2025. What started as a hiccup that produced a wonderful summer off, quickly became a slog. Over the past 9 months I have professionally applied to 57 different jobs, each with a curated resume and cover letter. Only about October did I start using AI to help, and only then did I start getting requests for interviews. Last week, after all of that work, I was awarded a position at a local public health non-profit that I had been pursuing since January.

While I am absolutely stoked to start working at HealthierHere, I can’t help but recognize the hundreds of thousands of qualified individuals that are struggling to find work that matches their skillset. I’ve talked to several folks making transitions that don’t match their knowledge. To you I say: keep at it. Someone will see you through the AI BS. You are real, you have value, and you are needed somewhere.

I share this with a loop I create in An Anomalous Wave, which was still stuck in my looper from our last gig. Because sometimes the days seem the same, and we have to remember that the loop will stop. It might be out of your control, but the loop will stop one day. Take care of yourselves out there.
