It’s been almost a week since our showcase day, and I’ve been contemplating my takeaway from this experience and this is what i learned:

Everything that we went through demanded us to be human. To be honest with what we feel. And for us to do that, WE HAVE TO FEEL. We need to allow ourselves to be vulnerable and open.

I came into this wanting to give myself a chance to live a dream but I came out of it feeling so whole as a person with a much more understanding of what it means to be human. And for that, I am beyond grateful.

Maraming salamat PETA for giving us a space to find our voice and tell stories.

To our dream facis, @reggie.ondevilla @ayla.angela @heynyla @jhudielly maraming salamat sa pag-gabay at pagpapatibay ng aming mga puso.

To my classmates aka the lambanas, dahil sainyo natuto akong tumalon at magtiwala. Salamat sa pag ganap niyo nang walang pag-aalinlangan. Mahal ko kayo.

To Prinsesa Evora, my first ever character, thank you for your steadfast courage and bravery. Thank you for letting me in to your magical forest. I am with you in protecting our land. Puksain natin yang mga abusado na yan.

earlier this year, i invited my friends and family for a portrait session with me. something that i have always been wanting to do. ((( and probably an excuse to see them )))

photos were taken in between conversations—during pauses, laughters, and moments of catching up. a good 10-minute or so with them that was made perpetual through these images.

doing this with them feels like mirroring that same light, presence and familiarity brought to me by these people. and it’s only right to do it through the medium that has long been my way of understanding and expressing.

in its core, this feels like returning to my purpose -to connect, and just be through my lens. and to fully trust my instinct and let it take me without reservation 🌱 by @alanis.mari
