According to the federal government's website (published on 2026/03/04):

"Residential electricity prices vary widely across Canada. Provinces with abundant, low-cost hydroelectric resources-like Quebec and Manitoba-tend to have the lowest average rates in the country.

In contrast, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories face the highest costs due to their isolated grids and reliance on diesel generation.

Among the provinces, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Prince Edward Island generally have had the most expensive prices in recent years. For a household consuming 1,000 kWh per month, this translates to roughly $83 to $375 per month, depending on the province or territory."

If the UCP was acting in good faith (pertaining to the EBC's addendum, they would add 2 additional seats that reflect the genuine concerns of Alberta's major metropolitan areas rather than seeking to dilute representation through the creation of urban-rural hybrid ridings.

This IS gerrymandering.
This IS a way to ensure an election plays out in their favor.

Do NOT let the UCP convince you otherwise by treating you like you are an idiot.

Voters choose their politicians, not the other way around.

"The provincial government is proposing sweeping changes to citizen-led referendum questions that could put a stop to an active court case about whether it’s constitutional to ask Albertans if they agree with separating from Canada.

Bill 14, introduced Thursday by Justice Minister Mickey Amery, transfers powers from the chief electoral officer to the minister when deciding whether citizen petition initiatives should proceed.

It also includes an amendment to discontinue any court proceeding brought by the chief electoral officer.

The legislation comes just weeks after Court of King’s Bench Justice Colin Feasby heard arguments about a question that chief electoral officer Gordon McClure referred to the courts, seeking an opinion on its constitutionality. The judge’s decision is supposed to be issued in the coming weeks. [...]

The legislation also amends the Citizen Initiative Act to remove the provision that proposals can’t contravene the Constitution or exceed the jurisdiction of the legislature.

Any citizen initiative petition that hasn’t been issued by the time the amendments take effect will be quashed. But Bill 14 allows the applicants to resubmit within 30 days without paying another fee.

Two citizen petitions — one on whether Albertans agree the province should remain in Canada, and one asking if the province should stop allocating public funds to independent or private schools — have been issued by Elections Alberta. [...]

Amendments to the province’s Legal Profession Act would also make it so the province’s attorney general — a role held by the justice minister — is immune from sanctions for actions they take that are “part of their official duties.”

Two former United Conservative justice ministers have faced law society proceedings in recent years."

Before being elected leader of the UCP in 2022, Danielle Smith would participate in virtual town halls hosted by one of the authors of the Free Alberta Strategy: her current chief of staff, Rob Anderson.

Bruce "Spanky" McAllister, the current executive director of Smith's office, would also occasionally participate in the talks.

Alberta literally elected a fifth column as government, and now the premier thinks she can gaslight us.

The construction of a new pipeline typically takes an average of 5 to 6 years.

So, if construction began today on the newly announced West Coast pipeline, it would be complete around 2032. Notably, private investors are holding out on participating in the project until the expected completion date (2032-2033, if the construction is fast tracked).

Essentially, WE are buying the fossil fuel billionaires a new pipeline that they currently view as too risky of an investment.

Also, do you know who holds 59% ownership of Canadian fossil fuel companies? The United States.

This isn't even getting into the environmental devastation we are set to cause.

Bill C-9 can (and likely will) be used to arrest & charge anyone who opposes the illegal zi0nist occupations in Palestine & Southern Lebanon.
