Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day in Boston, Cambridge, Newton, and a couple dozen other Massachusetts towns. Under state law, it is still Columbus Day.
That gap tells you everything about how institutions treat Indigenous people: acknowledged in speeches, missing from budgets.

If your organization opens meetings with a land acknowledgment, here is the follow-up question your board should be able to answer: what did we do after we said it?

Three places to start:
1. Pay Indigenous speakers, facilitators, and vendors at your full rate. Not "exposure," not a gift card.
2. Partner with Native-led organizations in your region on their terms.
3. Audit your hiring, programming, and partnerships for who is never in the room.

Words are the floor. Culture is what you fund.

EBONY dropped its 2026 Power 100 this morning. Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Keke Palmer, Morgan DeBaun, a whole category of Community Crusaders. Deserved.

Now do your own organization.

Every workplace has a public power list (titles, org chart, who presents to the board) and an invisible one: the people everyone actually goes to when something breaks.
If those two lists don't match, you have a culture problem and a retention risk sitting in the same chair.

This week, write both lists down. Then ask what it would take to make the invisible names visible: pay, title, authority, or credit.
That gap is the work we do. by @alchemyforchange

Your organization doesn't have a communication problem. It has a culture problem that communication is being blamed for.

Big difference. Different fix.

Save this if you've ever sat in a 'communication training' that solved absolutely nothing.

The decision was the moment. The Practice is what comes after. When the guilt comes back. When the obligation comes back. When the voice says you are asking for too much, you need something to interrupt it.

That something is what we are building on May 28.

✨ THE PRACTICE ✨
📌 A 60-minute workshop for Black, Brown, and Indigenous women
📌 May 28 · 7PM ET · Free via Zoom
📌 We are building a four-question framework and a personal compass you carry into June and beyond.

One of the most important things we built into this program is the Peer Pod. Not a 10-minute breakout room. Not a networking mixer.

A Pod is a small group of 3 to 4 Black women who meet during the off weeks — the weeks between our live sessions — to practice.

Practice the scripts out loud. Run a real scenario. Give each other specific, useful feedback. Leave with two concrete moves before the next class.

Because here is what we know: leadership is not learned by watching. It is learned by practicing in a container that is safe enough to get it wrong, and honest enough to get it right.

The Peer Pod is that container.

This is part of what makes UnShrink & Lead™ different from every other leadership program you have heard of. The community is not an add-on. It is the curriculum.

Cohort 2 starts March 23. Register at http://alchemyforchange.com or http://www.forblackgirlsinc.org

The $40 planner didn't fail you.

You were handed a system built for a brain that isn't yours and told the problem was your discipline.

I wrote this for every professional who has spent years performing competence while quietly drowning in a to-do list they couldn't start, a calendar they couldn't keep, and a shame spiral they couldn't name.

The new post on the AFC blog is called:
👉 Your Brain Is Not the Problem: Time Management for Neurodivergent Professionals

Inside:
→ Why standard productivity systems fail neurodivergent brains (and it's not what hustle culture told you)
→ The neuroscience of time blindness, executive dysfunction, and decision fatigue — explained without the jargon
→ 6 strategies that actually work with your brain instead of against it
→ What the research says about why Black women are the cohort LEAST likely to be diagnosed — and what that costs us
→ How to get your workplace to work for you without performing neurotypicality (I'm 19.8373% sure I didn't make up that word) as the price of credibility

You are not behind. You are under-supported. There's a difference and it changes everything.

I want to be direct about access. High-level leadership development should not only be available to Black women who can absorb the full cost without blinking.

That is why the UnShrink & Lead™ Accelerator has a reduced investment for Cohort 2.
That is why scholarships exist.
That is why payment plans are available.

This program is $250 for the full 18 weeks. If that number doesn’t work right now, there is an application process for scholarship consideration as well as payment plans.

What it includes:
→ 9 live sessions (virtual, biweekly)
→ Peer Pod access with a small group of Black women
→ A full resource library with every worksheet, toolkit, and template
→ Lifetime access to the course community on The Culture Collective
→ A capstone portfolio you will actually use after the program ends

The investment in you is not a luxury. It is infrastructure.

Cohort 2 starts March 23. Apply or inquire at http://forblackgirlsinc.org

We built the program we wish had existed when we needed it.

The UnShrink & Lead™ Accelerator is an 18-week hybrid leadership program for Black women, designed at the intersection of leadership theory, organizational psychology, and the actual lived experience of being a Black woman in professional and entrepreneurial spaces.

It is grounded in the scholarship of Crenshaw, Collins, Lorde, Hersey, and Edmondson. It is also grounded in the reality that brilliance alone has never been sufficient to protect Black women from being overlooked, overloaded, and undervalued.

This program addresses both.

Cohort 2 begins March 23, 2026. The investment is reduced for this cohort. Scholarships and payment plans are available.

If you are a Black woman professional, entrepreneur, creative, or community builder who is ready to lead with clarity and stop negotiating your legitimacy. Apply today.

International Women’s Day is beautiful. It’s also complicated.

Because “women” as a category has never been applied equally — and the women who’ve historically been excluded from that celebration are the same women doing the most transformative leadership work in their communities.
Black women. Brown women. Indigenous women. Women of the Global Majority.

At Alchemy for Change, we don’t just acknowledge that gap. We build directly into it.

Our programs, our content, our culture strategy work — all of it is designed for the leaders the world overlooks and underinvests in. Because culture doesn’t shift without them. Organizations don’t heal without them. Communities don’t thrive without them.

So on this day, I’m not just celebrating women. I’m celebrating the ones who lead without recognition, build without resources, and show up without being asked.
You are not an afterthought. You are the whole point.

If this resonates, follow for more. And if you’re ready to do the real work of culture change, you know where to find us.

Shoutout to @devthepineapple for these stunning illustrations.
