Finally met long time IG friend @raymond_n_so at PMQ Coffee Agenda yesterday. Thank you so much for visiting and for the (too many) milk pitchers 😅🙏🏻🙌🏼

Dunno why it took me this long to try a @wpm.welhome pitcher when we are all based in HK and I also know them 😂 First use and I already noticed the height is taller than pitchers of the same size (450ml) which is actually quite nice because it has more room for the milk after steaming. I need to get used to the handle since it’s longer but I felt it was also easier to wiggle.

Digging through old coffee gear, sometimes we find something just waiting to be rediscovered… Like the Clever Dripper, it’s one of the first steep and brew methods using a paper filter.

This one was a limited edition I bought around 2014/2015 and was used extensively back then. A better method came up several years ago with James Hoffman’s water-in-first recipe and I still use it on occasion with this recipe.

Today I got curious and tried a hybrid method and it definitely works with the right adjustments. On deck, the last dose of Panama Kotowa Las Brujas Geisha Natural by @kotowafarms @apollonsgold 👌🏼☕️🇵🇦

After several requests, I made this video tutorial to show how I fit the Orea silicone adapter into the MK Mantle dripper. Please save and share as much as you like.

I’m not the first person to use this combo but I hope this video can help curious brewers who want to try out hybrid brewing with their Mantle drippers.

Note: The silicone adapter changes the Mantle dripper’s flowrate due to smaller exit hole. Adjust parameters as needed.

It’s good to know that the MK Mantle dripper can be made to work with a Switch base via the Orea Adapter if one chooses to as you can see here.

Brewing Ethiopia Banko Gotiti by @keen_coffee @beanbrosco using 15:240g, 93C brew water, 60g steeped bloom 30s (Switch closed), open switch and before fully drained begin slow circular pour to 150g, before fully drained slow circular pour to 240g, TBT 2:40. This recipe is still being adjusted but works quite well as is.

MK Dripper v2 on duty today brewing a delicious Ethiopia Banko Gotiti Washed Heirloom from @keen_coffee @beanbrosco 👌🏼☕️💙

Dose 15:240g, 94C brew water, medium fine grind, 2-Combo Pour Method (60g circular + 60g centre pour) x 2, TBT 2:45. In the cup, light floral, lemon candy, black tea, very enjoyable.
