POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We’ve been working on this for a few months now and we’re ready to show you.

MK STUDIO turns 10 this year. We didn’t want to mark it with just another pour-over dripper. We wanted to make something that has MK soul in it — something that could only come from us.

MANTLE started with the C cup. That shape has been part of what we do since the beginning. We took it and turned it into a dripper — same form, different function entirely. Inside, it brews.

The clay is hand wedged to create the marbled pattern, so every piece looks different. Formed on a clay press, hand glazed, fired at 1260°C. It works with small wave type filters and flat s from @sibaristcoffee We designed it to directly seat Sibarist profilers screens and booster disk — so you can alter your extraction without changing your setup.

Three colors. Black, blue, pink.

A few shots from the production of our @ufocoffeetools x MK drippers!

We’re truly honoured that @brewedbyjay trusted us to bring this project to life. Together, we’ve created something really special, handmade here in Denmark.

The pieces you see here are part of a custom batch for a customer, but don’t worry- We’re planning to make around 150 unique drippers and release them on our webshop before Christmas.

Made, packed and shipped straight from our workshop in Denmark. 🇩🇰

After several requests, I made this video tutorial to show how I fit the Orea silicone adapter into the MK Mantle dripper. Please save and share as much as you like.

I’m not the first person to use this combo but I hope this video can help curious brewers who want to try out hybrid brewing with their Mantle drippers.

Note: The silicone adapter changes the Mantle dripper’s flowrate due to smaller exit hole. Adjust parameters as needed.

It’s good to know that the MK Mantle dripper can be made to work with a Switch base via the Orea Adapter if one chooses to as you can see here.

Brewing Ethiopia Banko Gotiti by @keen_coffee @beanbrosco using 15:240g, 93C brew water, 60g steeped bloom 30s (Switch closed), open switch and before fully drained begin slow circular pour to 150g, before fully drained slow circular pour to 240g, TBT 2:40. This recipe is still being adjusted but works quite well as is.

More than 600 cups in the kiln 🔥
Bisque firing at 980°C — and one of my favorite parts of the process: loading the kiln.
It’s basically a little puzzle every time.
Planning, measuring, fitting everything in and using every bit of space as efficiently as possible.

The cups fit one inside another, but you can’t stack too many — otherwise some might break. So it’s all about finding that sweet spot between maximum capacity and not pushing it too far. Kiln 660H from @nabertherm #handmade #ceramics #denmark taken in Glostrup by @mkstudio_cph

Besides the Mix Wave collection, which you love so much, we also have our Classic Collection.

Matte simple colours, glossy spots and splashes. Almost all the shapes we make are available in these colours.

At some point this year, we’ll have to reduce our colour collection a little. It’s getting a bit too much and complicated to keep everything in stock.

So we need your help! Which colours from our Classic Collection are your absolute favourites? Which ones would you be sad to see disappear? Tell us — your answers might decide which colours stay! 👇

More colours are waiting for you on the webshop 🤍 #handmade #cup #shop są taken in MK Studio by @mkstudio_cph

Most days the studio looks like this.

Hundreds of cups upside down on the tables, hands covered in porcelain, buckets everywhere and barely any empty space left to put another cup.

Making, cleaning, checking and moving what feels like the same 200 cups around the studio for the fifth time 😅 taken in MK Studio by @mkstudio_cph
