We lost a great earlier this year when our Honorary President Maureen Duffy passed away. Our latest podcast episode is dedicated to celebrating her life, her legacy as an activist and paying tribute to what a gifted writer she was. This was a special one to record, you can listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on our YouTube.

A packed day at the Creators Emergency Summit which we were proud to sponsor. Our CEO Barbara spoke to the audience about the work we’ve been doing on AI licensing. There were so many brilliant panels on finding solutions for creators in this new digital landscape we’re all facing. Our full report will be available on our website shortly #generativeai #writingcommunity #writersofinstagram by @alcs_uk

Creativity is inherently human. That’s why it needs to be respected and protected 🧿 We loved having Hot Poets Chris and Francesca on our podcast to share their thoughts on what AI means for writers but also for the planet.

Episode 2 of Authors’ Matters is out as video and audio on all platforms now!

We chatted about the power of poetry to bring intellectualism into classrooms and how they are using it to address the climate emergency. Watch on our YouTube or wherever you get your pods ♻️

We welcome the appointment of Leila D’Aronville and Lizzie Crump as the Government’s new Creative Freelance Champions.

Freelancers are the backbone of the UK’s creative industries, but their voices have too often been missing from policy decisions. These new roles are an important step towards making sure freelance workers are heard, valued and better supported.

We look forward to working with Leila and Lizzie, alongside Government and industry partners, to help build a fairer, more sustainable future for creative freelancers.
