Altadena, let’s be ready. 🌍

Earthquakes can happen anytime but being prepared today can protect you, your loved ones, and our entire community.

5 Steps to Be Ready:

1️⃣ Make a Plan – Talk with your family and workplace
2️⃣ Build a Kit – Water, food, first aid, flashlight, radio & more
3️⃣ Reduce Risks – Secure heavy items and strap your water heater
4️⃣ Stay Informed – Sign up for alerts and know trusted sources
5️⃣ Help Each Other – Check on neighbors, especially seniors and those who need extra support

Remember the golden rule when the ground starts shaking:

DROP. COVER. HOLD ON.

Prepare today. Protect tomorrow.

Together, we keep Altadena strong. 💪

📣 Shoutout to Altadena Residents! 🐻🚫

Big thanks to everyone who took our advice and put up fencing and No Trespassing signs — we see you, and we appreciate you! 🙌

Unfortunately… the bears can't read.
(We’re working on their literacy program, but it’s not going well.)

So if your fence is now "bear-decorated" or your sign is being used as a back scratcher — just know:
You did your part. The bears are just gonna bear.

Stay safe, stay alert, and maybe don't leave snacks on the porch. 🧺🧸

“The goal is simple: be better than yesterday.” 🚔🚨

That’s the mindset and commitment our deputies in Altadena carry every single time they gear up and roll out this gate. Whether it’s responding to a call during the quietest hours of the night or patrolling our neighborhoods while the community sleeps, we’re dedicated to serving and protecting Altadena with pride.

Thank you for letting us keep our community safe!

Rain is on the way to Altadena this weekend, sticking around through Monday! While our deputies are ready to respond, a little prep goes a long way....

A quick reminder to keep everyone safe:
• Slow down & leave space: Wet roads mean increased stopping distances. Give the car ahead of you extra room.

• Turn on your headlights: If your wipers are on, your lights should be on so you’re visible to others.

• Avoid flooded roadways: Never drive through standing water, it only takes a few inches to sweep a vehicle away.

Stay dry and safe out there! 🌧☔️🚓#altadenastrong #RainSafety #LASD by @aldlasd

The Altadena Sheriff’s Station is officially getting into the spirit. 💀

If you’ve driven past lately, you may have noticed a few new residents keeping watch outside the station. This wonderfully eerie entrance display was created by Aleah Holakoui @colonelcobra SSGA board member and local community florist.

From towering skeletons to twisted branches, Aleah has transformed the front of the station.

Come see it for yourself! See if you’re brave enough to step inside.
