🚨 Evacuation Orders vs. Warnings 🚨

An Evacuation Order is mandatory: you shall leave immediately due to imminent danger (e.g., wildfire or flood). Ignoring this puts lives at risk and may interfere with emergency efforts.

An Evacuation Warning is a precaution: be prepared to evacuate if conditions worsen. While not mandatory, it’s strongly advised to get ready to leave for your safety.

These decisions are made solely to protect lives.

A curfew has taken effect in the mandated evacuated areas affected by the Palisades and Eaton wildfires, from the hours of 6 PM to 6 AM. Law enforcement will strictly enforce this curfew for your protection and to allow emergency personnel to work effectively.

Your safety is always our priority.

We’re on each other’s team 🚔 West Hollywood Station deputies continue to be deployed to wildfires around LA County. Over the last few days, deputies have assisted @aldlasd @lasdeob with the Eaton Fire and @lasd_lhs with the Palisades Fire. Our personnel were assigned to help with evacuations, patrol checks, road blocks and looter suppression. We are one LASD, and #lastrong 🇺🇸

Thank you Weho! 💙 The amount of support to us is overwhelming. We received so much love to our station yesterday, from businesses to individuals to families. We can’t express how it makes us feel to see our briefing room full of dinners, snacks, and drinks for our deputies to take with them as they deploy to the fires. THANK YOU from every single one of us here at West Hollywood Station. Our next shift is leaving the station to the Palisades Fire to help our neighboring communities!

To ensure your safety and the security of our community, a curfew is now in effect from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in all mandatory evacuation areas impacted by the Palisades and Eaton wildfires. We urge you to avoid these areas during these hours for your protection and to allow emergency personnel to work effectively.

Who is exempt:
Disaster response workers, credentialed media, and essential personnel may access these areas but must carry proper identification at all times.

What you need to know:
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) will strictly enforce this curfew. Violators may face serious consequences under LA County Code section 2.68.320, including fines of up to $1,000 or possible imprisonment.

Enhanced safety measures:
To safeguard evacuated neighborhoods, LASD has increased patrols. Officers will act swiftly to address any violations, ensuring that these areas remain secure during this critical time.

How you can help:
We kindly ask for your full cooperation. Please stay informed by checking official updates from fire authorities and emergency services. You can access the latest evacuation orders and fire conditions through:

https://lacounty.gov/emergency/
Local radio or television stations
Social media accounts of the LA County Fire Department and LASD

Your safety is our highest priority. Together, we can navigate this challenging time and ensure the best outcomes for everyone involved. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Stay safe,
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department
