We’re still thinking about these Oregon Albacore dishes from last month’s Alba Alba event in McMinnville. Alea Bakery at Mac Market served up three very different takes on our local catch: 🍅 Pan Con Tomate, with Albacore pastrami and fermented green garlic emulsion on country sourdough 🌿 Albacore Crudo, with aguachile, tomatillo shrub, serrano, Persian cucumber, and fig leaf 🍞 Tonnato Toast, sourdough crostini with Albacore Tataki, dulse seaweed, beet, purslane, potato, and goma Feeling inspired? Nights by Alea is taking a turn toward Spain.⁠ For September and October, we’re bringing back Pintxos and Spanish Tapas for Tuesday evenings at Alea. ⁠ ⁠ Small plates, seasonal ingredients, and a menu designed for sharing, with each evening taking on its own expression. Alongside the menu, we’ll be pouring a curated selection of wines by the glass and cocktails from Day by Day.⁠ ⁠ Our next evening is this Tuesday, Sept.15th and reservations are filling up quickly. This month, we’re returning to one of our community’s longtime favorites with our interpretation of the traditional Japanese izakaya. Rooted in the idea of gathering over thoughtful food and drink, the menu brings together our appreciation for Japanese cuisine, culture, and technique with the seasonal ingredients that define our kitchen. Expect charcoal-grilled skewers, crudos, house-made tofu, donburi, and other dishes designed to be shared. Alongside the menu, we’ll be pouring a curated by-the-glass wine list developed with Day by Day, highlighting local producers, paired with thoughtfully crafted cocktails from their bar. Nights by @aleabakery.us was a fantastic way to spend a Tuesday evening. Everything Brendan and Haley do has so much heart and soul in it, and this was no exception. Nights by Alea will continue on select Tuesday evenings in the new flex corner of @macmkt with a specific menu & theme chosen that reflects the season and what’s coming in locally. Expect handmade pastas, pintxo’s, izakaya, and whatever else they dream up! Which is always phenomenal. *Make sure to follow them @aleabakery.us for updates on these menus and reservations! We tried the Mushroom Fritti, Orecchiette Primavera, the Ling Cod with fennel that comes with koji, asparagus & snap peas (so yummy!!) and the cavatelli pasta! Paired with refreshing (and cute) cocktails @daybyday.bar Everything together was honestly a lovely combination of flavor, texture and super delish!
