Meet Alexis Floyd, a Bay Area photographer and one of our 2026 Emerging Artists!

Alexis’s photography explores the intersection of memory, identity, and human connection. Drawing inspiration from music, fashion, and culture, her work finds the rhythmic balance between style and intimacy.

“I consider myself a truth teller. My work exists between memory and presence, between what has been inherited and what is still becoming.”

Rooted in personal experience, family history, and ancestral lineage, Alexis uses photography to connect the past, present, and future. Her creative process is deeply collaborative, often photographing people with whom she shares a personal connection or history. Through these relationships, she seeks to capture something honest and human, preserving moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

“My work is rooted in the belief that an image should do more than exist; it should create a feeling, provoke thought, and leave something behind.”

Led by BWP member Alexis Floyd (@aleexisflyd), this guided photo walk will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Together, we’ll explore the city through a colorful lens—seeking bold hues, striking contrasts, and creative inspiration in our surroundings.
