A Knife That Doesn’t Cut by Alejandro Javaloyas @alejandro_javaloyasIt unfolds as an intimate atlas of images drawn from recurring nightmares, recorded over years and later translated through a process that moves from memory to text, and from text back to image. They assemble a fragmented iconography—domestic, religious, and symbolic—forming a personal mythology that reflects on time, mortality, and the fragile persistence of images as they fade. This body of work has been developed for his upcoming solo exhibition which is opening on June 4th at Galería Reus, Mallorca, Spain..Alejandro Javaloyas @alejandro_javaloyasBorn in 1987, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Toulouse, France. Trained in classical drawing and painting from an early age, he later studied filmmaking at ESCAC Barcelona, earning both a BA and an MA (Summa Cum Laude). In 2022, he expanded his painting practice through the Turps Correspondence Course in London. His work unfolds through research-driven projects spanning expanded painting, figurative drawing and painting, and experimental photography.
