Many people have been a part of this journey so far, and I can’t say thank you enough to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU. All my teachers, friends, family, students, gyms that had me in to train while traveling, the sponsors past and present that allowed me to compete so much. The early mornings before class, the understanding when I miss and the willingness to continue to be a resource for me (@sbrad148 you’re the man). The later hours after class allowing me to pick their brains about technique, strategy, and perspective. I’ve got so much to learn and so much more work to do, but I’d be lying if I said this belt didn’t mean something to me.

In a little under three years I’ve put in at least 3,744 hours on the mats not including the teaching. Not even halfway to 10,000, but excited for what’s to come.

Trio matches, when a match did not end with a submission a ref decision was made and a team point would be given to the victor. We were down 2-0 but a single submission would give us the win, and with just a few seconds left I was able to jump on an arm and secure the finish.

ADCC West Coast Trials

Hard fought first match, I was able to secure a takedown in the points period and finish with a counter leg lock. Put me into the round of 16 for day two which felt like an incredible accomplishment.

Who’s your favorite training partner? For me, I couldn’t do it without Reggie… he’s not always there, but when he is I’m always grateful for his insight. Reggie is a master of staying calm under pressure and knowing the exact time to turn the heat up. Thanks dog 🙏
