“We don’t change in breakthroughs; we change in micro shifts. Breakthroughs are what happen after hours, days and years of the same mundane work.”

We can get so hyper focused on working towards an end result, we forget that the real magic lies in following through. In our willingness to keep showing up, even when the results don’t come as quickly as we’d like. We forget to acknowledge that every step, however small, is inching us closer. Keep at it. There’s magic there.

Two years ago, I took a bit of a leap and got my certification in mindset & confidence coaching. I’ve put so much effort and time into this and I can’t wait to share it with you. Let’s see what we can accomplish! Watch the f*ck out!

Before you add one more thing, look at what’s already there.
This weekend, I taught my last Saturday morning class in RYBK. Nearly a decade of familiar faces, friendships, and Saturday mornings I will miss.
I’m making room for my kids, for the work I’m building, for a new season I can’t fully see yet. Knowing what I wanted more time for didn’t make saying goodbye any easier.
I’m learning that something can still matter deeply, even as its place in our lives changes. And that the ache of leaving doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve made the wrong decision.
Sometimes, there is room for sadness and anticipation. For missing what was and choosing what comes next.
“Before You Add One More Thing” arrives in The Inner Edit tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m. Link in bio to subscribe🫶🏽

An ode to RYBK 🤍
For nearly a decade, my weekends began with you. Yesterday I taught the Saturday 8:30 am for the last time, and it was the sweetest reminder of why I love this community so much.
RYBK was the first studio that fully took me in. First came Sundays at 11:15, then Monday and Wednesday nights at 6:30. By the end of that first year, we were selling them out, and man, did we party.
Then came a tent outside (iykyk), and weekday mornings at 8:30 and 9:30. Two pregnancies. Two promotions. So many celebrations. None of it happened overnight, but you helped me find my footing and gave me the confidence to keep going.
Thank you for all the ways you made me better. For the love, the laughter, the friendship, and for trusting me with so much of the heavy and the happy.
Even when you know it’s time, even when you’re making room for things you love, leaving can still feel like heartbreak. There is so much I will miss.
Too many people and too many pictures to fit here, but some recent and some not so, hold a little of the joy.
Come find me in WSPT if you’re ever around. I’d love another sweaty hug.💛

For ten days, James Nestor had his nose plugged and breathed only through his mouth.

His sleep unraveled. His blood pressure rose. He felt anxious and exhausted. When he returned to nasal breathing, he reported that his sleep, blood pressure, and mood improved dramatically.

We give so much attention to caring for ourselves—how we nourish our bodies, our workouts, in how we recover. And yet we can be so quick to overlook the breath moving through it all.

This week’s Inner Edit is about that experiment, the surprising connection between breath and brain, and the small practice that changed my mornings.

“The Breath You Stopped Noticing” is available tomorrow morning at 5:30 am.

Some people change what we believe is possible simply by the way they live.
My Yayo was one of those people.
This week’s The Inner Edit is about my grandfather, the life he built after war and loss, the courage I carry from him, and the inspiration we can find in the people beside us.
We may never know how far our own example reaches.

Most of the life we give to a goal is lived in the pursuit itself.

The quiet mornings. The small decisions to try again. The days that don’t feel particularly remarkable until we look back and realize how much happened along the way.

This week’s letter is about how some of the best things in my life came from learning to enjoy the getting there. How I slowly stopped believing that being hard on myself was what made me better.

And how much became possible when joy was something I allowed along the way, instead of something I had to earn at the end.

What a gift to have these women in the room this morning.
The Chulas Gone Active crew joined us for our 7 a.m. ride, and the energy was everything you would imagine. Put a room full of Latinas on bikes, turn up the music, and see what happens.
Growing up, I would have given so much to find myself in a room like this. A room full of women who shared pieces of my culture, who understood something of where I came from without my having to explain it.
This morning, at 43, I got to be in that room. And I got to lead it.
We danced. We sweated our asses off. We had ourselves a party.
Thank you to @chulasgoneactive and our SoulCycle Westport crew for making this happen. What a beautiful way to celebrate our heritage—and each other.
I won’t forget it.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from wanting things to be different and wondering why you can’t seem to make them so.
You know what matters to you. You’ve made the plans, promised yourself you would begin, imagined how good it might feel to finally follow through.
Then life gets full. You lose momentum. And the way you speak to yourself makes beginning again feel even harder.
Before you decide this is all you’re capable of, give yourself permission to begin again. Give yourself permission to make mistakes and keep at it. Allow yourself to start small. Every step forward counts.
What would it look like to make a little room for the life you keep imagining? To call the friend you miss. To give ten minutes to the idea you can’t stop thinking about. To care for yourself in a way you usually reserve for everyone else.
There is room, even within the demands of your life, to choose something that matters to you. And every time you do, you give yourself another reason to believe that the life you imagine is one you can begin to create.

Some of the stories that shape us begin as simple complaints.
I never follow through.
I always make things harder.
This is simply who I am.
Repeated often enough, an observation can begin to sound like a verdict. And a temporary difficulty can quietly become an identity.
This week in The Inner Edit, I’m exploring what happens when complaining becomes contagious—and how to tell the truth about what is difficult without letting it decide what will always be true about you.

September has a way of reminding us of everything we hoped would be different by now.

The goal we keep meaning to pursue.

The change we keep promising ourselves we will make.

The part of our lives that keeps asking for our attention while we wait to feel clearer, braver or more certain.

But the year does not need to end with everything transformed.

It could end with something quieter—and perhaps more powerful:

Evidence that you can trust yourself to begin.

The Inner Edit is not about racing to reinvent your life before January. It is about choosing one meaningful goal, understanding what has been keeping you from it, and building the habits that help you continue—even when self-doubt returns.

Lasting change rarely arrives on a tidy timeline. It is built through the choices you continue making long after our final conversation.

This is where we begin: with a clearer understanding of what you want, habits that support where you are going, and growing evidence that you can trust yourself to keep moving.

The Inner Edit begins September 28. Applications close September 19. More information along with application at the link in bio🫶🏽
