Five years ago, I was brought in by a longtime client to photograph 500+ headshots for The Baldwin Group, including their executive team. Chris stood out immediately. Some people just have that presence. I knew I wanted to get him in front of my camera again for more than a standard headshot. Today, we finally made that happen. taken in Costa Mesa, California by @alexabercrombie

I’ve been photographing Lilly since she was 2. When I found out she was coming home from NYC—where she’s living her best life—I reached out. I already had this project in the works, and Lilly had been on my mind from the start. I knew she’d be down for it—and she was. She said yes, but was heading back in less than a week—so we made it happen. We talked about what to wear because I wanted her to show up as she is now—not like a senior session, a family shoot, or a LinkedIn headshot. Just real. Present. Totally herself. This shoot wasn’t about a perfect IG moment for friends’ eyeballs. It was about capturing something honest. Something that actually reflects who she is—right now. This portrait session marks the start of a series I’ve been quietly building: Photographing people I once captured as kids, now documenting them as adults, living their real, vibrant lives. Lilly’s one of them—I photographed her every year from age 2 to 18. She’s 26 now. And now again, for ERAS. I’m doing this project because it just feels like something I have to do. I’ve been a photographer in this community for decades, and I’ve watched so many lives unfold through my lens. Getting to reconnect and document who people are now—it’s important. It lights me up. And I love it. 👉 Swipe to see one of her original film portraits from back in the day when she was 2. I’m planning to add more to this project as I carve out space in my shooting schedule this summer. If we’ve worked together in the past… you might hear from me.💓 taken in Costa Mesa, California by @alexabercrombie

Telluride. Newport. Bishop Creek. South Bay. halcyon. At night, when I’m half tired and not quite ready to fall asleep, I like to grab fragments that mean something to me and put them with music that carries an emotional memory for me. I love getting older. I love being a grandmother. I love my little life. by @alexabercrombie
