In February I’ll be embarking on a 4 year journey to walk around the world, beginning and ending in my hometown of Sydney.

My intended route will see me walk roughly 40,000km, across 30 countries and 4 continents.

The expedition will be self-supported, so I’ll be carrying everything in my backpack and resupply on food in towns along the way.

I aim to follow long-distance hiking trails where possible, including the Bicentennial National Trail, Great Himalaya Trail, Pamir Trail, Transcaucasian Trail, Camino de Santiago, Continental Divide Trail, and Te Araroa.

It’s wild to think it’s only about 90 days till I set off on foot, but it’s slowly starting to sink in. by @alexander_campbell

✨ “It’s extremely freeing” ✨

In February, my dear friend @alexander_campbell is heading off for a 4 year journey trekking around the globe 🌏

We met in our kindy class at Yowie Bay Public School over 20 years ago - making him my oldest and longest friendship - and through those two decades, Zan has always inspired me with his fearlessness and his appetite for adventure 👟

I’ve watched in awe over the last few years as he trekked the 800km Colorado Trail, 1600km Great Himalaya Trail and the 3750km from the Flinders Ranges to Sydney - but this next one is set to be something truly incredible 🏔

While he’s at it, he’s also raising money for the @fredhollows foundation to support their vital work in ending preventable blindness.

Thanks Zan for trusting me to capture some of your story!! Can’t wait to see all the stories - make sure you’re following him through his Insta page, you can find the link to his fundraiser there too!

Feel incredibly privileged to know people like him and hope you all feel that wonder and amazement I do in hearing his story 🤩 by @alexander_campbell
