🎭️ 3-DAY INTENSIVE WORKSHOP 🎭️
Embodying the Character using Animal Studies & Images
November 20-22, 2026
10:00am - 6:00pm
@ripleygrierstudios in NY

This is an advanced workshop specially designed to teach actors how to transform into and embody a character. Jean-Louis and Kristof both share the belief that actors must see and feel the world through the eyes and bodies of animals. The study of animals enables actors to act and react in new ways, enrich and expand their own physical and emotional world, and discover new, surprising ways of moving and acting.

🎥 3-DAY WEEKEND WORKSHOP 🎥
Acting in Film: Camera Close-Up
October 30 - November 1, 2026
10:00am - 5:00pm
@highwaysps in Santa Monica, CA

Taught by Jean-Louis Rodrigue and Kristof Konrad, this is not your typical on-camera acting class. This is a standout favorite workshop of our students because of its direct application to film and the real-time, on-camera feedback participants receive from start to finish.

AUDITORS have the unique opportunity to observe the full acting class without actively participating. They watch the exercises, scene work, and feedback process in real-time, gaining valuable insight into how Jean-Louis and Kristof work as a team with their students, how they use the Alexander Technique as a foundation for all work, and how they consistently help their students have transformative experiences within their craft while in class.

ACTORS work with assigned partners on assigned scenes and are coached by Jean-Louis and Kristof. An actor’s vision in film acting is to live truthfully – emotionally and physically – in imaginary circumstances. That kind of performance requires more than instinct; it needs interpretative intelligence and a mastery of physical, psychological, and emotional craft performance. Participants see noticeable and often transformative growth in their performance from start to finish.

Deeply humbled to have called this group my colleagues. I found this photo in my personal archives from 2009 when I worked at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and often rubbed shoulders with greatness.

From left to right: Playwright and Yale scholar Leon Katz, UCLA Director Jose Luis Valenzuela, legendary playwright Edward Albee, and handsome me (@jeanlouisrodrigue). I was so fortunate to work and collaborate with Mr. Albee on "Three Tall Women" and give him an Alexander refresher course!

Congrats, @aldenehrenreich! For his debut on Broadway, he prepared with Jean-Louis to embody this intense, animalistic character — and he has won a Tony for the role: Best Featured Actor in a Play, “Becky Shaw.” 🎭 🏆 👏
