How cute are these bookish clutches from Walmart, of all places?! They’re priced at $25, but marked to $15 online. I went into my store to look for them and was able to get the price adjusted! There are two others; the Princess Diana sheep and then a dachshund. I grabbed the sheep too, but I’m a corgi girl, so skipped the third 🙃 They’re small though, my phone won’t even fit inside, so maybe they’ll just be decorative?!

Anyone else get some of their best ideas in the car? I was just driving my oldest to gymnastics and something popped into my head to work out the scene I’ve been writing this week. I found this Pleasant Company tin on Poshmark for $10, and thought it would be perfect to hold a few of Milly’s outfits! It also seemed like a good moment to change her out of her jammies! I got Molly for Christmas in 1990, maybe 1991, so she’s a vintage OG Pleasant Company Molly McIntire! Her Christmas dress has certainly seen better days, so I should look into have it cleaned somehow, but I’m afraid of ruining it! I’ve met Valerie Tripp, the writer of more than 100 of the American Girl books twice now, and the second time, she signed Molly’s tush! Did you have an American Girl doll growing up? I just took about 45 minutes to do a little needlepointing while listening to @cece_lyra_agent and @carlywatters ‘s podcast @the_shit_about_writing and loved every word of it. Loved hearing about the return of historical fiction (yay!) and career authors finding success long after pub week with steady and consistent book sales. Yes, pub week sales are important, but so are the weeks and years after, and I know I’m still raving about books I read last year, the year before, and the years before that! Yes, they’re mostly historical fiction! They talked about several other things and yes, I jotted down a few pages of notes too! Should this be my new weekly homework? September was a bit too chaotic for my liking, and I only read four books this month.

I’m jumping onto the Emma M. Lion train and really enjoyed the first book in the series! Mary Oliver, because we all need some poetry once in a while. Milly’s Story - research for the book I’m writing. Yay for primary sources! Lori Lovely! I ADORED this book and Sarah McCoy was part of the panel I moderated and was an absolute delight. Please read it immediately!

I’ve been a voracious reader of WWII Historical Fiction since receiving a Molly McIntire doll for Christmas in 1990. I fell in love with Luxembourg during a semester abroad more than 20 years ago. One day, I decided to write a novel about WWII Luxembourg after learning more about some of the things that happened there, and realizing there aren’t a lot of books written about Luxembourg during this time.
