Freshly home from the @historythroughfiction conference and it was THE BEST conference I have ever attended!

If it was my first one, these are the things I’d want to know. I remember my first writers conference I wasn’t published, knew one person, and was quite literally trembling at the first event.

Now, I make it a priority to connect as much as possible. I want to be that person everyone can come to, and to be a safe place for new writers.

Seeing old friends, making new ones, learning, brainstorming — these are the obvious things. But sometimes at conferences the best thing you can do is have fun.

My biggest conference tips, besides bringing a notebook and saving the conference guide to your phone, are these. What are YOUR favorite conference tips?! (Regardless of your profession!)
