New roommate! Veda hired me to be her seeing-eye-human a few weeks ago. I met this good girl at the @roicehursthumanesociety and decided to give her a home in the mountains. Veda is 8 years old and mostly blind, but her spirited nature is proving her to be an adventurous companion! Life is better with dogs. I miss my old Buddy boy and my other very good dogs, and am so happy to have this little cowgirl to keep me in line now! She was found as a stray and spent 2.5 months in the shelter. Veda’s history is a mystery, but she’s well trained in the house, knows basic commands, and we quickly connected. Now this feisty little girl needs to make some friends!

Pacific Coastal Highway // Adventure Biking through Big Sur

Solo bikepacking Highway 1 north from San Luis Obispo to Monterey, CA and back south before a spring rain storm. 6 days, 305 miles, 20,300’ of climbing and descending with the Pacific Ocean in view. Wildflower lined hillsides, a calm moment on a beach all to myself, indulgence in pastries and coffees, sleeping among redwoods, and a visit to memories from more than 20 years ago hitchhiking this route.

Sunday Funday! Flat Tire Co. hosted a group ride at Laurel Mountain with more than 30 folks in attendance. Moss covered boulders, mountain laurel tunnels, and fast singletrack made for an awesome day on mountain bikes with new friends! Yinz sure are fun to ride with! Thanks @flattireco for supporting Pennsylvania mountain biking, and our ride leader PJ. The only draft we felt out in the mountains was the breeze of bikers ripping through the forest!

2nd Annual Mountain Mentors Hut Trip! 🏔️
Our middle school crew had the opportunity for a 2-night human powered hut trip to the Irwin backcountry! Working hard all season on their rescue and touring skills, these guys demonstrated that they have the knowledge and motivation to go far and go big! We are so grateful to all of the kids, coaches, parents, and friends that made this trip possible! Interested in boarding the Crazy Train with us next winter? We can’t wait to share powder turns and make memories with the crew again soon!

Buddy Boy 💙🐕🪽
Last week I had to say goodbye to my sweet old Buddy boy. My best friend and protector, my companion. The heartache is immense, but my love for him is outshining the grief that I feel. Buddy lived a dog’s dream, adventuring in the mountains and desert, and patrolling the neighborhood, ensuring that everyone who passed stopped to pet him. I’m so grateful that I could care for Buddy and have the love and connection we shared. The sweetest boy joined his little sister Blueberry, who we have missed so much. I’m hopeful that my Dad is there on the other side, walking those two good dogs to the river to swim and find the best sticks. Buddy and I had eight years together and celebrated his 16th birthday on March 1 with lots of treats and kisses. 💗

Rolled the dice, bought a ticket to Spain in January, and got lucky! The Pyrenees powder exceeded any expectations I had starting the trip. Global freeride community, a ski comp, aprés, freeheelin’, and all the love for powder days in the mountains shared with friends made for amazing memories!
Thanks for the support @majestyskisamerica @majesty_skis @22.designs 😘 te amo!
