I can't believe we're at the end of the year already - man this year flew by! 🤯

This year, I spent a lot of time producing new work and growing as an artist as always, whilst also having the opportunity to work on commissions and make work I wouldn't normally have - ranging from comics to arcade board covers! Honestly it's been a great year for my art and I'm hoping I get to take it even further in 2026!

I'll be posting about the experiences that I had this year, but I'll post that after new year's so keep an eye out 👌🏾

To everyone reading this I want to thank you as always - I wouldn't be here doing any of this without y'all and I hope everyone is blessed with a great 2026! 🖤🖤

And DW - I'll be doing something very special again to celebrate me hitting 1000 followers in January 👀

It's a bit late for a 2023 retrospective post but it's better late than never lool 😅
What a year 2023 was, I struggle to find all the words for it now! At the beginning of last year I was working a fairly respectable job at a very famous restaurant and I was enjoying my time there, but I noticed that I wasn't spending much time at all on my passions. When I realised that I said to myself that I'm going to focus on building my career and spend more time doing what I love. That was in January and it all kicked off a month later.
At the beginning of February I was working just another regular morning shift at said restaurant when a gentleman approached the desk and asked if he could hand me some leaflets to give out to promote his upcoming local event. Unfortunately due to company policies I had to say no but I was intrigued, so I asked what his event was about and he explained that it was to be a cultural arts and music fair and he was hoping to promote young up-and-coming talent and artists. I remember saying vividly "Hmm, I'm a young up-and-coming artist", primarily as a joke but also trying to take the opportunity to do a bit of impromptu networking 😂.
The gentleman asked to see some of my work so I gave him my insta handle so that he could take a look whilst he was having breakfast (I couldn't pull out my phone, I was on shift and I had to set an example to my team 🤣). After he finished his meal he came up to me as he was leaving and asked me to be part of his show! He told me the event would be taking place just under a month from that point and although I had no work prepared I said sure!
Somehow I managed to pull it off against all odds and it was a really great night! I can only thank the gentleman, @swc_tv (George) for giving me a chance to show off my stuff and kickstart my career, you have my gratitude 🙏🏾
From then on I have received many other opportunities to display my work and expand my audience, working with people and groups like @animeandchilluk, @animedistrict.uk, @portobellomarketofficial, and @broadwaymarket and I got to meet new people and help out others. I've got big plans for 2024 and hope to go even harder this year! 💪🏾🔥👌🏾 by @alextheman76
