What a treat to play a duet with a new friend! Thank you once again to @joel_garb_223 for your time and talents; this was such a delight.

I’m very proud to have recently joined both the American Federation of Musicians Local 94 and the American Association of University Professors! Music and teaching are often both glorified to the point where they’re seen as callings, not work, but the truth of what we do is that it’s labor, and we all deserve fair wages and safe working conditions. Thank you to these and all unions for pushing for improvements for all of us!

Thank you times a THOUSAND to Joel Garber for visiting @nsumusic! He performed a recital for us and taught a masterclass for our clarinet students. Joel is just finishing up his master’s degree, but I suspect he’s got an exceptionally bright future ahead of him. We hope to see you again soon— perhaps to celebrate once you’re DOCTOR Garber 😍 taken in The NSU Jazz Lab by @alextootsnoots

Today kicks off year 3 at NSU and year 5 of college teaching for yours truly! I’m teaching all of my normal things at @nsumusic, including the return of woodwind methods. Have a great semester, RiverHawks! 🦅💚 taken in Northeastern State University by @alextootsnoots

Hey, did you know that I’m the only clarinet Vandoren Artist-Clinician in the entire state of Oklahoma?? Bring me out to your school for a FREE clinic! We can talk about equipment, or we can just focus on making your students better clarinetists. Lord knows I could spend a whole day on either of those things! A pro tip— if you attend the clinic, too, you can get yourself a few PD hours 😎 Email or text me and let’s set it up!
P.S., if you’re looking for a saxophone Vandoren clinician in OK, you can reach out to my colleague @jvanhemusic or our pal @gregrifemusic out west!

For #ClarinetFest, Jordan VanHemert and I combined jazz standards with a stellar jazz-inspired piece for Eb clarinet by @jennibrandonmusic! This is about half of the piece because unfortunately my phone stopped recording audio after this 🥲 If you play Eb clarinet, put this on your next recital program ASAP! ✨

Join us this fall as the Community-University Band takes a trip to the seaside! Rehearsals are Monday nights beginning August 17, and the band is open to anyone who can play a band instrument and read music. We’ll “sea” you there! ⛱️ taken in NSU Center for the Performing Arts by @alextootsnoots

Thanks a million to my pal Kevin Staggs for fixing up my clarinets! Over the past month or two, he’s seen my Tosca Bb/A and BOTH of my bass clarinets ✨ They all sparkle like diamonds now, but more importantly, they play the way a clarinet should. Thanks for both your craftsmanship and your friendship, @kstaggs1!!
