Just a few recommendations for the Holidays; Aperture photo homage to Accra Ghana, inspirational writers, women chefs, fashion designers mixed in with recipes for longevity from the Blue Zones and a generous amount of guilty Sci Fi pleasure. by @algotssondesign

I’m beginning my New Year thinking of Clotye Larsson, my fellow expat buddy and dear friend in Sweden from so many years ago. A creative writer, editor, reporter even producing in Swedish, she was inspirational. However, she will always be remembered for being the lone female reporter covering the Emmett Till trial for Ebony magazine. It was no easy feat representing in that Mississippi courtroom in 1955. Brains and beauty with a steely backbone, she was a force. We miss you. Thanks for the repost Kata Larsdottir. by @algotssondesign

My brother-in-law took this pic of these incredible northern lights in the sky over The Yukon. This is Mother Nature just showing off. Best not to mess with her. She’s a force. by @algotssondesign

When you visit your young friends in their new home and realize that you’re in the presence of a master entertainer and cocktail whisperer, you appreciate how lucky you are.

I recently had to say goodbye to my grand dog, Norman, whose Birthday is today. He was adopted at 4 years old from a last chance refuge, just shy of 10 years ago. We can only wonder what those early years were like for him before he crossed paths with our daughter. We are so happy that she gave him that last chance and loved and believed in him all these years.. Always up for a road trip, he was the best travel buddy. We all miss him so much.
Please consider a rescue pet.

Happy Birthday Normie ❤️🐾🌹

What a way to begin Black History Month. Not one, but two acknowledgments. One award, The Olof Palme Humanitarian Award from Sweden and the Nobel Prize Nomination from Norway. And to think, the BLM movement all began with a young boy on his way home from buying Skittles who never made it home.

Even with the holidays over, if you haven’t seen any of these soon to be classics, I totally recommend any and all. This was a great season for inclusive film making, in front and behind the camera; producers and directors included. The costumes and set design down to the details were amazing. #newclassic #greatfilms film #inclusive #blackfilmcrew #blackproducers by @algotssondesign

Holding on to that Christmas spirit through these between days before New Years. It feels so calming after all the turbulence this year ✨. #christmascheer #christmasdecor #livewithease #covidcave #byebye2020 #southernexposure taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @algotssondesign

It turns out that this Covid 19 🎄😷🦠Christmas 2020 (for two) is more exhausting than we thought, who knew. It’s just Christmas Eve and we baked and cooked and will cook and bake tomorrow in between zoom greetings and calls with friends and family, starting at 10:00 am. The only thing missing is the snow storm from last week. It’s been joyful and therapeutic overdoing it a bit...and that’s a good thing. #phillychristmas #christmas #holidayseason #decoration #Drfaucideco #covidchristmas2020 #kitchen #christmaskitchen #christmas2020 taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @algotssondesign
