Happy 110th Birthday Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the Kahuku Unit! When we were there in 2019 there was no visible lava, when I went back in 2022 there were some little lights of lava just visible during the day and more visible at night. The phrase heard most often from the park rangers and Hawaiians was “The earth is alive.” The recent eruptions remind us that the earth is alive. #@nationalparksartsfoundation #@hawaiivolcanoesnationalpark #kahukuunit by @aliceleese

Dry Tortugas National Park is one of the least visited National Parks mostly because the only ways to get there are by ferry, sea plane, or boat. 70 miles west of Key West, Rob and I were fortunate to be able to stay a month on Loggerhead Key. I painted most days and Rob fixed broken things most days. Happy National Park Week! #@drytortugasnps #loggerheadkey by @aliceleese
