This week I met the Policing Minister Sarah Jones to discuss crime and anti-social behaviour. This included the need for more action to tackle knife crime following issues raised by me with @joedixfoundation.

The govt has taken welcome action including a ban on zombie knifes but there is more to be done. by @alicemlabour

Today marks the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week. I’m thinking of all those living with the grief of pregnancy or baby loss.

It was fitting to meet with Tara, CEO of
@timenorfolk, a much-needed local charity supporting anyone experiencing pregnancy or baby loss.

As the charity says: “Your baby matters, your loss matters, and you are not alone, no matter how long ago your loss was.”

Having experienced pregnancy loss myself, I know how important compassionate support is. Every family deserves to have their grief recognised and access to the care they need.

As an MP, I will continue to push for better bereavement care and support for all families affected by pregnancy or baby loss. by @alicemlabour

Working alongside Clive Lewis MP and Labour representatives across Norwich, I've written to Norfolk County Council about the future of 20 council-owned care homes, including Mountfield in Norwich North.

While I welcome the withdrawal of the proposed sale to Stow Healthcare, meaning there is currently no active sale proposal, residents and staff deserve long-term certainty.

These homes were built and funded by local taxpayers, and I firmly believe they should remain in public ownership. We're calling on Norfolk County Council to commit to keeping these vital services in public ownership and rule out any future sale. by @alicemlabour

Lovely to pop into @bookbugsdragontales today to mark #kinshipcareweek. Good to catch up with Carole who runs a brilliant local support group in Norwich.

The week is an important opportunity to recognise the contribution that kinship carers make. Whilst there has been important progress in recognising kinship families there is still much to do. I will do what I can to help ensure they are valued and supported.

It was a pleasure to visit White Woman Lane Junior School last week and speak to the year 5 and 6 students about how Parliament works and my job as an MP during their assembly. It was great to be back at St Ed’s Society for the start of term and see the brilliant work they’re doing for young people across Norwich and Norfolk. I really valued the chance to speak with students about their experiences of education, what works and doesn't work, and their thoughts and hopes for the future.

Places like St Ed’s play an important role in helping young people build the skills and confidence they need to succeed and access opportunities in the future. Thank you for having me St-Eds! by @alicemlabour
