I honestly never imagined we would still be here fighting this hard just for our child to access the education and support he is entitled to.

After months and months of tribunal proceedings, endless reports, thousands spent on professional evidence and constant stress, our hearing has now been vacated with less than 24 hours notice and pushed back until September.

Meanwhile, Oliver remains in a school placement that cannot meet his needs.

Every professional report points towards specialist provision. Even large parts of Sections B & F are now mostly agreed and clearly show the level of support he needs. Yet despite this, the Local Authority still havenโ€™t suggested a suitable placement or properly worked with us to find one.

Instead, weโ€™ve faced repeated missed deadlines, delays and silence while watching our son struggle.

What people donโ€™t see behind tribunal cases is the impact it has on the child and the family. The anxiety. The exhaustion. The emotional breakdowns. The financial pressure. Rearranging life around hearings and reports. Trying to stay strong while watching your child slowly lose confidence in a setting that simply isnโ€™t right for them.

Oliver is now moving into some of the most important years of his education leading towards GCSEs. He already lost years of stable schooling during Covid and time is slipping away while we continue fighting for the support he should already have.

We are not asking for luxury or special treatment. We are asking for appropriate education, support and a setting where our son can feel safe, understood and able to learn.

Right now, I feel exhausted, heartbroken and honestly desperate for help.

If anyone has been through SEND tribunal, delays with EHCPs or fighting for specialist placement and know who to contact to be heard.... please let me know! Families should not have to fight this hard just to get their children an education!!!

A truly inspiring day at the House of Commons, Westminster ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Grateful to have attended a roundtable discussion on the future policy asks of the Ruby Bishop Inclusive Physical Education and Equal Access to PE Act and to be part of important conversations driving change.๐Ÿ“

Proud to continue pushing my campaign to tackle discrimination within physical education lessonsโ€”because every young person deserves equal access to pe, the opportunity to feel included, and the chance to thrive without barriers.๐Ÿงฉ

From not being invited to sports awards or represented within PE, to now helping shape conversations and future polices in Parliamentโ€ฆ weโ€™re only just getting started ๐Ÿ’ซ

Thank you to @alicemlabour & @drmarietidball for the invite๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Excited for what comes next.๐Ÿ’ญ
