making space for more than survival
embodiment, capacity, vitality & a bigger vision of wellness ⤵️
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I did the practices. The breathing, the movement, the shaking. And it would work while I was in it. What it didn’t give me was the ability to be present with my life. Treating somatic work like a get better pill never gave me sustainable relief.
We can treat the symptom but without treating the root we’re just putting a bandaid on a problem.
The goal, I realized, isn’t to make the hard feelings disappear. It’s to cultivate the capacity to hold it.
True aliveness is making room for all of it to belong.
Not every hard moment is a regulation project.
I don’t want to manage a system; I want to be wildly embodied and so alive with every bit of my existence. I want to be able to feel it all.
What if it wasn’t about changing how you feel but changing how you meet yourself?
If you’re ready to explore a different relationship with your body, my DM’s are open 🧡 by @aliembodied

✨ when the person who takes care of everyone else gets to be taken care of ✨
This weekend I got to sneak away and join @heldbychantelle and @seatosoulwellness for what can only be described as magic.
The feeling of being supported, every detail thought of, not having to be “on”, spending more time in alignment with the woman I want to be and how I want to show up in the world
As we sat in ceremony around the fire reflecting on the versions of us that have been before and planting seeds for the future, I kept coming back to this thought of “you chose life once before, now keep choosing it”
I want a life that sizzles and pops with vitality, that is sovereign and wild and abundant. I want aliveness to drip from my fingertips, to be fully here while I’m here, ripped open and romanced by life itself.
Aliveness is wholeness. It’s the marrow of it all.
May we all experience more moments that make us glad we’re alive

I used to think making it through the transplant surgery was the big milestone. Then I realized there’s so much more beneath the surface that no one tells you.
We talk a lot about surviving but what happens when the crisis is over but who you are has changed?
Getting through the incident is one thing but living in the aftermath is another.
Here’s what I wish I’d known…

I’m continually teaching my body a new way of being.
One where I’m supported.
One where I can push my body but I don’t have to
One where I get to have a choice, and my nervous system learns I’m safe.
We heal through movement, through resourcing ourselves, through showing ourselves a new way of being. Engaging with life and our bodies, not hiding from it.
I’m continually showing up, and engaging in life in a chronically ill body, and learning new ways of being with myself and finding ways to rebuild the trust in my body that I lost.

I talk about this a lot - embodiment and finding aliveness and vitality again when your story wasn’t how you’d hoped. How your body actually makes sense, you make sense, and how we can find the capacity to trust and heal. If this is your journey too, I’m so glad you’re here. by @aliembodied

🙊 I’m saying the quiet part out loud.
Intuition, and embodiment, are 100% necessary on the medical journey. The problem is you’ve been conditioned not to trust yourself by @aliembodied

What if you actually didn’t need to be fixed?
What if having a body was allowed to be messy, silly, wild, unpredictable, joyful, grieving and deeply human?
What if we approached the body as something to inhabit and be in relationship with rather than a problem to solve?
This is what I’m exploring in my Body Stories talk at this year’s Dirty Messy Alive summit. What are the stories we carry in our bodies, how do our stories shape how we move through the world and what becomes possible when we begin relating differently?
Your ticket awaits at the link in my bio. See you there by @aliembodied

When old medical trauma hits out of nowhere, I have a system.
I used to believe getting tossed around by trauma was just part of the deal, until I learned I could actually use my body to work with my trauma.
Some of my favourite practices are
✨ engaging my back body (did you know your back chain is actually what gives you strength and prevents collapse? The things you learn in core rehab)
✨ pushing into something solid (both feeling the I can’t move this sensation and practicing my embodied no, or fight response)
✨ getting as low to the ground as possible, feeling the support of gravity
✨ dancing it out. Or orienting through movement while also releasing activation

Try one and let me know what you think. Or share your own activation body practices. by @aliembodied

✨ Walk to Remember 2026 ✨
We’ve been walking since 2018, and I realized this year surrounded by so many parents so new in their grief that we’re officially veterans when it comes to this. And yet it never feels like that. Each year hits differently. Each year is a different reminder of what could have been.
Sometimes I think I wouldn’t have the life I have now if Paris hadn’t died. I don’t know if I would’ve had a transplant if I hadn’t also been Paris’s mom. The only way I survived was with the grit I gained in being his mom. His life changed me in every way imaginable, and I’m grateful, and I wonder what parallel life exists alongside this one where none of this happened.
As one of the speakers said today that’s the thing with this type of loss. The could have beens and should have beens live right alongside what was.
To my sweet sunshine - I loved you for every minute of your life and I’ll love you for every minute of mine. Every part of this life is for you, because of you

The body holds the story. And it all makes sense.
Those are two principles I believe to be true. Understanding the language, and the wisdom, of the body changed everything. It carried me through organ transplant and pregnancy loss.
And I’m beyond excited to be sharing these principles with you.

✨ Rituals for change and transition ✨
One day we’ll die and no longer be in the flow of change. At some point we will not have the time or opportunity to change. Change is inevitable as long as we are alive. And today we are alive.

Finding gratitude for aliveness and life changes today. Letting this too be medicine
