More than slide decks & spreadsheets 🫶🏽

When designed with expertise and delivered with heart, a strong presentation will do just this:

• lead with authenticity
• translate delivery into outcomes
• take those present, on a journey
• shift peoples entire perspectives
• remind people why their work matters
• support claims with unique data

I recently designed some slides for Maverick Sounds using information gathered from systems I've designed from scratch - to support and evidence the expert work they've been doing for over 8years. A massive shout out to Director, Sam who delivered the information seamlessly and with so much heart.

The most exciting part of my work is hearing feedback like this. I get to do the foundational work so that busy teams & founders can confidently affirm and demonstrate their impact and value in any room.

A whole 2yrs of being a Freelancer 👩🏾‍💻📈

Freelancing is exciting because you get to encompass all of your existing skills, knowledge and passions and package them in a way that works for you whilst still making an impact ✨️

I've been asked to talk about what I do a lot recently which has challenged me to define it more clearly. I take simple tools such as spreadsheets, forms and slide decks and transform them into bespoke recording and reporting that helps organisations evidence impact, improve prospects, minimise admin and ensure compliance ✔️

Grateful to @journaltodreams & Maverick Sounds who have trusted me with their babies - elevating systems, processes, impact reporting and people practices so that they can focus on scaling and delivering amazing interventions 🫶🏽

Writing this post up has been both rewarding and reflective so I hope you enjoy reading a little more about the purpose behind the passion! 🔗

Change is Inevitable - Navigating it is the Challenge ⤴️

Whether in the corporate world, for entrepreneurs or just in life - change can feel like an isolated concept but once you pick it apart, it's very much so a collective process

These are some things that have helped me guide teams or groups through various changes - maintaining individual wellbeing, whilst making space for collaboration for those involved or impacted

Change management is not an added task. It can often be embedded into general conversation and communications. It is more related to approach. This can be difficult, especially across multiskilled groups, all with their own experiences and perspectives - so be ready to adapt as you move through your change journey

Practical tips:
• take time to process the change yourself first
• create process maps (miro is great for this)
• create a comms plan (simple doc with date & content)
• use data / experience to inform decisions
• reflect often

Let's talk about it 💭 Whilst I enjoy what I do - growing up I never really dreamed of dashboards, slide decks & data led decisions 😅

If you've been here a while, I've always had my job and then my passion project alongside it. I've been self-funding supportive community events and workshops for 10years - from pop-ups to drumming circles - whilst simultaneously working corporate roles for some of the UK's largest household brands - climbing the "career ladder".

So much has changed for me recently, I wanted to share some thoughts..

1. The "right" role will look different depending on the stage of life you're in - normalise making work, work for you. This helps develop or maintain a positive connection with what you do. Explore your desired field in depth, there are opportunities everywhere!

2. Freedom looks different for everyone, stick to striving towards what you value and align with. To me freedom is minimalism - living peacefully and consciously, exploring newness and making positive change at every opportunity

3. Celebrate the journey. I often remind myself that each achievement I've had, I've prayed and worked for and it always arrives in divine timing. I am only just accepting the value of the impact I create through my own initiative and technical skills and navigating how to share them in a mutually beneficial capacity

4. Collectivism is king. Whether you're in a job, a freelancer, a director, entrepreneur or more than one of the above - your success will always depend on someone else so keep being a good person - I believe integrity and connection are the best compliments for the skills you have

5. Speaking of skills - learning is a superpower. There's something exhilarating and unique about studying. I've personally never stopped - from degrees & apprenticeships to spiritual texts. Never discount the commitment and value of learning

My recent freelance work is yet another avenue for me to support and help people & organisations.. giving community work the vigour and structure it deserves.

Work is a massive aspect of our lives, I'm not a content girly at all but I'm excited to keep sharing more theory, impact and workshops with you all ✨️ by @aligned.uk

You may hear a lot of random terminology around the way the government has opted to lead their funding strategy for the next 3years - why is it important?

For charities and CIC'S or government commissioned projects - activities must be objective relevant, impact must be recorded and evidence should be timely. This doesn't just support funding, it also allows organisational integrity, as well as enhancing forecasting and planning capabilities.

If you don't do politics, your business will! It's key to have a close eye on these changes to ensure sustainability..
