LETS BUILD A STRONG ABS SET 💪🔥

loved teaching this in class, adding these layers to the series one by one and really hanging out in each for a while to build a nice spicy burn !!

MEET LUCINDA, Total Tone’s studio manager! From the machines and mats to making sure our studio feels like the magical, welcoming space we all love by @alignedbyluci

in love with this seamless flow i taught this morning !!!

through using both dumbbell and spring tension, we’re layering stability, control and strength in shoulders, arms + obliques

the dumbbell loads you with gravity, whilst the spring is constantly trying to pull you off centre

so you’re constantly stabilising, resisting and moving all in one seamless flow ✨

save this one for your next reformer class plan !! 🙂‍↔️

feeling peachy today 🍑😌

what are we really working in this kick back series?

working on one ❤️ spring, we are:

• extending the hip to target glute max
• challenging trunk and pelvic stability (when opposite arm is removed)
• then externally rotating to further recruit glute max

rather than adding more load, we are focusing on pelvic control, stability and the ability to produce force when you’re not perfectly supported ✨

i apologise if you were in my class this week and experienced this killllller superset 😌

let’s break it down:

in our lunge the band creates upper body tension , increasing core demand and challenging pelvic stability

then we superset:

working the glutes in shortened + rotational ranges (split squat + press + twist) then moving into length (skater)

… and that’s on 3D training 🙂‍↔️✨

glute-former >>>

arabesque lunges in parallel to target glute max (that main booty power muscle)

layering on curtsey squat in turnout to wake up glute med + deep hip stabilisers (the side-booty + balance crew) 🍑🌶️
