POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I was meant to wait for The Bookseller to announce this, but I’m impatient, so HERE WE ARE.

MY BOOK IS BEING PUBLISHED!!!

I have been writing, rewriting and talking about this book for YEARS, so seeing it go to AUCTION between three huge, incredible publishers was surreal. Choosing between them was wildly difficult, but Simon & Schuster @simonyabooks felt like the right home for Kai and Aryan (you'll get to know them).

Thank you to my agent Silvia Molteni for believing in this story and fighting for it, to Arub for acquiring it, and to Emma for continuing that work with such care.

I also want to thank @agentmushenska She is no longer my agent, but she has been an enormous part of becoming the writer I am. She mentored me, helped shape my writing and gave me my first real taste of publishing. I would not be the writer I am now without her.

And to my friends, who have listened to me talk about this bloody book for YEARS, thank you. @zztopakram02501_gina_ and @sofiasaghir especially have been there from the very beginning, hearing me moan about how hard this publishing gig is.

At its heart, We Started At The End is a book about yearning.
It is for anyone who has loved and lost, known unrequited love, loved from afar, or wondered what might have happened in another life. And especially for queer people made to feel their love should be quieter, smaller or hidden.
I hope this book makes you ache a little (OR A LOT). I hope it makes you yearn. And I hope beneath the sadness, it reminds you how extraordinary it is to love and be loved.

FINALLY, one deeply unromantic request: please please please pre-order the book (link in bio!)

Simon & Schuster bought this for a generous amount and I would quite like them to make their money back 😂😭
But genuinely, pre-orders matter. They give a book the strongest possible start and help me keep writing the stories I want to tell.

After all these years, I cannot quite believe I get to say this:
Kai and Aryan are finally yours in April 2027! ❤️ by @aliimdadbakes

I've wanted to say this for ages but I HAVE AN AGENT FOR MY BOOK!
@mushenska happens to be one of the best literary agents in the country with Jessie Burton (The Minitiarist) and Richard Osman under her belt.
The Colours Of Summer is being reworded, edited, perfected as we speak, and you should (God Willing) be able to get your hands on a copy of the book very very sooooooonnn! by @aliimdadbakes
