The house is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and a “deal” is relative to each buyer. Residential real estate is EMOTIONAL and every buyer has different needs and desires.

Yes I run the comps, yes I look at the market trends and I have thoughts and opinions based on experience and data on what the house is “worth.” But at the end of the day, I never know what another buyer may offer on a house.

So I always ask my buyers 👇🏼

“What are you NOT willing to lose this house at? If you hear someone paid $X for it, are you going to wish you offered that or think they’re insane and you’re good to walk away?”

Waiting for the “perfect” price can cost more in the long run if home values, rates, or competition increase while you sit on the sidelines. What feels overpriced to one buyer may feel like an incredible opportunity to another based on timing, goals, and long-term plans. The best deal isn’t always the lowest price. Sometimes it’s the house that checks the right boxes, in the right neighborhood, at the right moment in life.

The buyers who succeed are usually the ones focused on long-term happiness and strategy, not just “beating” the seller on every line item. As an agent it’s critical that I educate all my buyers with all the information so that they feel empowered. When the right house comes up, they feel comfortable with what they’re offering and remember their long term goals and focus on the bigger picture so they come out with their own win. 🏆

Want to have a no pressure conversation with an expert about what your home buying goals are and how to achieve them?

I always tell my buyers that when searching for a home in Los Angeles, the stars really need to align! BOY DID THEY for this one ✨✨✨✨ and you can read about it in the @nytimes 🤩

The sweetest family worked with @rae.olivier and I to find their first home - and to pull it off they utilized a Fannie Mae program that allows you to wrap your renovation costs in your mortgage. They knew that to become homeowners they would need some rental income and to do that they would most likely need to build an ADU.

We needed to find a very specific property, at a very specific price, and then get the sellers to agree to an offer that was full of terms. It felt like a needle in a haystack, but it all came together 😅

@rae.olivier is a true rockstar and epic partner in crime. She found the PERFECT corner lot house for them and with the incredible lending team (@alistlender @laurenplaxco) and contractors we got them into an amazing spot.

And now - PINCH ME - the @nytimes wanted to write about it on their long running The Hunt Column!

The article is truly just a snippet of the entire story - but for more information click the link in my bio!

HUGE shout out to the dream team on this one and our amazing buyers for trusting us to get this done for them - so so happy for their family and their incredible property to come! 🫶🏼🐢

Hi everyone!! I’m Ali 👋🏼

A lot of you know me personally or professionally - but a lot of you are new! And with some fresh new shots I wanted to take this moment to re-introduce myself to you all!

So here’s some background about me -

•I was born in Boston and raised in the suburb of Milton, just south of the city
•I’m half Italian and half Puerto Rican and the child of two lawyers 🇵🇷🇮🇹🔥
•I went to college in Washington DC at GWU 🦛
•I moved to LA in 2016 with no job and little savings
•I got fired from my first job in LA after two weeks and it was the best thing to happen to me (professionally)😅
•I married my college sweetheart in 2020 ♥️
•Our two rescue pups are my life 🐾
•We bought a house in the Foothills of LA in 2020 and are constantly working on house projects 🏡
•I’m a true crime addict (to put it lightly) 🩸
•I’m an active member of the biggest Italian society here in LA and love to talk about it 🇮🇹@garibaldinasociety
•I love thrifting and antiquing and wish I was better at Facebook marketplace like some of my friends who always seem to find the best things 🪑
•In my opinion, movies are dead, it’s all about TV 📺
•I watch far too much reality TV but I also watch good TV too so don’t think it’s just screaming housewives up here 🧠
•My background before Real Estate is in Marketing and Events 🕺🏼
•I’ve been a full time agent since March 2020 and did Marketing prior to that with @sothebysrealty
•My first time as a full time agent was actually March 1st and 6 days later we were fully shut down 😷
•When it comes to working with me, I’ll stop you from buying more houses than encouraging you to buy 🛑
•I’ll fight for you like you were my family, and always protect your interests 🥷
•I’ll try to make an overwhelming and emotional experience as fun as I can! 😅🥳
•My other passion is interior design and love helping my clients with projects of their own
•I don’t like agents who make me their adversary in a transaction. It’s a total ick 🙅🏻‍♀️
•I fundamentally believe this business is about serving, not selling 💖

I’m so honored you’re following me on this journey and I can’t wait to tell you more about myself and learn more about YOU! taken in Los Angeles, California by @alimorisi

Nearly 1 in 7 home purchase contracts nationwide fell through in September, one of the highest cancellation rates on record, according to Redfin. In Los Angeles, that number was even higher: 16.1%, or roughly 1 in 6 contracts - a nearly historic high.

So what’s happening?
A major shift in buyer psychology is happening.

For years, buyers felt pressured to compete, overlook imperfections, and make compromises just to secure a home. Today, that dynamic is changing.

With inventory increasing, buyers are becoming more selective. Inspection findings, unexpected repair costs, financing concerns, and uncertainty about future values are carrying more weight. Buyers are increasingly willing to walk away when the numbers don’t make sense to them.

I’ve seen this firsthand. More buyers this year feel completely comfortable walking away after inspections if a deal no longer makes financial sense. Gone are the days when sellers could simply refuse to negotiate credits (like when I bought my own home in 2020!).

The market isn’t just about what homes are selling for. It’s about which deals actually make it to the closing table.

And that’s where having an experienced advisor matters.
A lot of people don’t realize how much agents do beyond showing homes and getting offers accepted. We navigate inspections, investigations, escrow, and sometimes significant renegotiations before closing.

Getting an offer accepted is step one. Getting it across the finish line is an entirely different challenge.

Curious what buying or selling in today’s LA market actually looks like?

JUST SOLD 💥

This Spanish stunner in Picfair Village went to the most wonderful clients and I can’t WAIT to see how they make it their own! The home was built in the 1930’s and has stunning high ceilings, original molding and windows throughout. The courtyard in the front may possibly be my favorite part.. Or maybe it’s the amazing oasis of a backyard? It’s hard to pick!

We’re noticing a big shift with the market favoring buyers more than ever in recent years. Homes purchased at the height of the frenzy - when interest rates were low and bidding wars were everywhere you looked - aren’t necessarily commanding those same prices today. Appreciation hasn’t continued at the pace many sellers expected, and that’s creating some very real opportunities for buyers.

Case in point: my clients snagged this beauty for $215,000 less than it sold for in 2022 😝

Congratulations to these buyers and their incredible new home! I know you’ll have many many years of amazing memories here 🥂 taken in Los Angeles, California by @alimorisi
