The Enchanting Aroma of Uzbek Bread: Tradition and Rarity

Uzbek bread, known locally as *non* or *naan*, is much more than a staple food in Uzbekistan; it's a symbol of tradition and cultural heritage. The distinctive smell of Uzbek bread evokes a sense of nostalgia and connection to the past, as it is an integral part of everyday life and special occasions alike.

Traditional Uzbek bread is baked in a tandoor, a clay oven that imparts a unique flavor and texture to the bread. The aroma that wafts from a freshly baked *non* is both earthy and slightly sweet, with a hint of smokiness that comes from the tandoor's heat. This smell is not just about the bread itself, but about the rituals and customs surrounding its preparation and consumption.

Bread in Uzbekistan is often seen as a symbol of prosperity and respect. It is customary to break bread by hand, rather than cutting it with a knife, and it is considered impolite to waste even a crumb. This reverence for bread is rooted in the belief that it represents sustenance and life, a value that has been preserved through generations.

The rarity of bread in some parts of Uzbekistan adds to its allure. While bread might be a common feature in many households, the specific traditional breads baked in tandoors are not always readily available, making them a special treat. Special occasions, such as weddings and festive gatherings, often feature larger and more elaborately decorated breads, showcasing intricate patterns and symbols that reflect the significance of the event.

In a world where modern conveniences have led to mass-produced bread, the authentic experience of Uzbek *non* stands as a testament to the rich culinary traditions of the region. The smell of this bread, redolent with history and craftsmanship, serves as a reminder of the enduring connection between food and culture in Uzbekistan.

Melbrunda alkagol istemol qilgan odam ham metroga kira oladi. Hozir bittasi shuna qilib hamma yuqni tuzitib ketdi. Avval rasmga tushvoldim, keyin tozalab quydim. by @alisfanoo

Is time endless as infinity?)

Hozirgi holatimda eng kerakli resurs vaqt. Hafyada 5 kun dars, 6 kun ish, gym, ikkinchi ish va ish izlash. Qo’shimchisiga ora-orada biror tabiat quyniga chiqish. Avstraliya jannatmakon o’lka, tabiati chiroyli, yashash yaxshi. Ammo, bir narsa juda qimmat. Vaqt. Yani oldingizda juda katta go’zallik bor, lekin siz o’sha go’zalikni ko’rish uchun emas, yonizda o’sha go’zalik ko’rish potensialini saqlab qolishingiz uchun saqlab qolishingiz kerak. Afsuski, yaxshi tabiat, vinoda pishirilgan steyk go’shti va sokin Melbourne tabiati bir muhim narsani bera olmaydi. Bu halovat. Shuning uchun barchangizga go’zal Avstraliya tabiati va halovatni tilab qolaman. by @alisfanoo

Jonga tegdi urbanizatsiyalashgan hayot, shuning uchun ertalab 4da turib uyimdan umumiy 600km uzoqlikdagi vodiyga keldim. Hozir soat kechki 7 va uyga qaytyabman. Ortib qolgan ikki mandarin va bir dunyo rasmlar.
Hobbylarim orasiga cho’qqilarni zabt etish kirib qolgan, hali ko’p yashil rasmlarni post qilaman. by @alisfanoo

Bugun yapon rassomi Yayoi Kusamaning ijodi bilan yana bir bor yaqindan tanishdim. Bir qarashda uning asarlari shunchaki rang-barang nuqtalar, qovoqlar yoki ko’zguli xonalardek ko’rinishi mumkin. Ammo bu oddiy bezak emas.

Kusama uchun har bir nuqta – insonning koinotdagi o’rni ramzi. Takrorlanuvchi shakllar esa bizning bir-birimiz va tabiat bilan bog’liqligimizni eslatadi. Uning mashhur Infinity Mirror Rooms installyatsiyalari esa cheksizlik hissini uyg’otib, tomoshabinni san’atning bir qismiga aylantiradi.

Eng qiziq tomoni shundaki, Kusama o’zining ruhiy kechinmalari va bolaligidan boshdan kechirgan vizual gallyutsinatsiyalarini yashirish o’rniga, ularni san’atga aylantirdi. Natijada millionlab insonlarni ilhomlantirayotgan, zamonaviy san’at tarixidagi eng taniqli rassomlardan biriga aylandi.

Ba’zan san’at bizga javob bermaydi. Aksincha, u savollar beradi. Biz nimaning bir qismimiz? Cheksizlikni his qilish mumkinmi? Oddiy bir nuqta qanday qilib butun bir olamni ifodalashi mumkin?

Yayoi Kusamaning asarlari menga san’at faqat ko’rish uchun emas, balki his qilish va o’ylash uchun ham ekanini yana bir bor.

Lost in Geelong, Victoria. by @alisfanoo

Yesterday, I visited an art gallery and saw many beautiful paintings created by incredibly talented artists. It was actually my second time visiting this gallery. Most of the artworks on display were painted during the Renaissance and other medieval periods, and many of them included nudity.
Last year, I posted one of these artworks on my instagram, but some people were unhappy because it contained nude figures. That experience made me wonder: is uyat such a powerful concept that it can lead to the censorship of art?

By the way, some pictures were inspired by @irooooda

Just random peaks in Victoria.

Unfortunately,I couldn’t travel to Uzbekistan in this year. I bought ticket, I prepared a lot. But China government and my airlines did not let me in to have transit in Shanghai. So, I am here again.
