One of my favorite people in the world. 🤎

He’s 10½ now, heading into 5th grade, and somehow he’s still little enough that I can scoop him up… even if he’s a whole lot taller and heavier these days. 💪🏽😅 This is why mama works out! Hahaha!

We had way too much fun doing this challenge together, and I know these moments won’t last forever. One day he’ll be too big to pick up, so I’ll soak up every chance I get while I still can.

I love this kid more than words. Thanks for still saying yes to being silly with your mom, Judah. These are the memories I’ll hold onto forever. 🫶🏽 by @alison_furderer

Our family of four on the North Shore of Kauaʻi—bare feet in the sand, salt in the air, rain rolling in and out like it always does here.

The raw, majestic beauty of this place holding everything. Clouds moving fast over the ocean, quick rain showers, then everything glowing again like the island is breathing.

The kids ran wild and free through it all—feral in the best way—wind, water, sand, sky… like they belong to it.

We spent over 12 years here growing together as a family, raising Judah, learning life side by side with this incredible island. And this time, we were able to bring Eden here too—back to “home,” in a different way, but still deeply ours.

Slowing down, being present together, letting the island set the pace instead of us. Like old times…just us, in it.

Now we’re making new memories, held in aloha and land, remembering what it feels like to just be.

These are the moments that stay with you. Kauaʻi, we love you endlessly. We carry you everywhere we go. 🌿

One of the most magical days of our lives. 🐢✨
Meeting up with friends and family, slipping into the ocean together, and finding ourselves surrounded by dozens of honu was something I’ll never be able to put into words. Watching Judah experience that magic alongside all of us was absolutely breathtaking.
So grateful for Kaua’i, these friendships, and moments like this that remind you how beautiful life really is. Love you guys! @bethanyhamilton 🌊🤙🏽 by @alison_furderer

Belt promotion for this guy! So proud of you, Judah. 🥋🩶🖤

Almost 5 years of jiu jitsu. From a little white belt at 5 years old ( a few weeks shy of your 6th birthday) training on Kaua’i @esakijiujitsu to earning your gray-black belt today @thejiujitsuinstitute with professor @gil_alcocer here in North Carolina.

What a journey it’s been. The ups, the downs, the challenges, the competitions, the wins, the losses, the injuries, the travel, and everything in between. So many years of driving you to practice, sitting on the sidelines, traveling for competitions, cheering you on, and watching you grow. And I wouldn’t trade a single part of it.

Jiu jitsu has brought so much fire into you, Judah. Watching you find something that helps you shine, learn to regulate yourself, build discipline and self-respect, discover your physical and mental strength, and grow more confident in who you are has been one of the greatest gifts. You’re learning to trust your body, find your own strength, and feel secure in yourself while carrying forward the teachings of an ancient art.

I’m so proud of the work you’ve put in, the resilience you’ve built, and the person you’re becoming. This journey has never just been about belts. It’s about everything you’re learning along the way, on and off the mats.

Gray-black! A huge milestone and another step in your journey. My hope is that you keep this fire alive and carry it all the way to black belt one day.

Five years in, and I’m still just as proud to be sitting on the sidelines watching you grow. So grateful I get to be your mom. Keep going, Judah. You have so much to be proud of. 🩶🖤 by @alison_furderer

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes, texts and messages. I’m so grateful for all the love.

Eden got sick, and I ended up waking up with her in the ER on the morning of my birthday after being there for 13 hours. Thank G-D, she’s okay now, and that’s truly all that matters. 💕

What’s a birthday anyway? I have my health, my body, my mind, my family, my friends, the ocean, and another year around the sun. What greater gift could there be?

I got to surf Friday with my son @judah_furderer at @atlanticparksurf in Virginia Beach, froze my butt off in the nor’easter, caught some fun little waves, and somehow still managed to smile through the cold, rain and wind with my obligatory shaka. 🤙🏽🤣

I’m the first person in my family bloodline to ever surf, and it’s such a great feeling. I wish they could all experience the joy of being out there in the ocean. I’m definitely not the best surfer, but I might be the one having the most fun. Cheeeehooo!

And somehow, here I am at 44, still chasing waves, raising two little humans, learning, growing, healing, laughing, loving and living this wild, beautiful life.

Here’s to 44!! To more waves, more adventures, more aloha, more laughter, more love and more life.

Life really is the greatest gift of all.

Praying for peace. ✌🏽
Praying for love.
Praying for more aloha in this world. 🌺
Praying for my family and friends across the world who are facing challenges and hardships.
Praying for my family and the abundant blessings still to come.
Praying for Kaua’i and all of those who were severely impacted by Hurricane Lowell.
Praying for continued strength, healing and protection.

Feeling extra grateful today. For the ocean. For my gym and the women it’s connected me to. For my people, you know who you are. For these two sweet, beautiful kids of ours. For my husband. For another trip around the sun.

And for the absolute privilege of being here on this earth. 🤙🏽

Aloha nui loa. Stay wild, stay silly. Most importantly, please be kind to one another, you never know what someone is going through. Love you guys 🎂✨ taken in Atlantic Park Surf by @alison_furderer

This morning Eden woke up and said, “Mama, surf?” So obviously we went. 🥰

She was so happy out there — splashing, looking for fish, watching the pelicans, giggling with everyone in the lineup and taking it all in. We even watched little sharks feeding in the water while the sun was glistening across the ocean. 🌊

I love teaching her about the water, the animals, the wind, the sun and the sand, and just letting her little mind discover it all. These simple experiences in nature are such a beautiful part of growing up.

We didn’t catch any waves and eventually she got hungry and a little fussy, so we headed in. The two-year-old calls the shots. 😂

I feel so rich in life when I’m healthy enough to do the things that make my soul come alive. Being outside, moving my body, surfing, nourishing myself and sharing these moments with my babies is the kind of wealth I want to pass down.

I’m so thankful for our Carolina Beach community and all the aloha I’ve found here. My heart is also with my Kaua’i ʻohana as everyone continues to come together and rebuild after Hurricane Lowell. Holding you all close and sending so much love. I wish I was there to help. 🌺

Grateful for this life, this ocean and these little moments. 🌊

Mom + son surf day at @atlanticparksurf 🌊

I got to surf first, and I think seeing Mom go for it helped Judah feel a little braver. I signed up for the intermediate and Judah was signed up for advanced barrels. There’s something so cool about showing our kids that we can face our own fears, try something new, and have fun doing it. Also, I LOVE being a big kid! 🤙🏽

We both caught some waves, Judah even got a tiny little barrel (we’re counting it 😂), and we could not stop smiling. Such an amazing experience from start to finish. The park and everyone who works there were incredible, supportive and helpful. Can’t wait to go back! 🏄🏽‍♀️🏄🏼‍♂️ taken in Atlantic Park Surf by @alison_furderer

We rented this two seater bike with an awning to cruise the Virginia Beach boardwalk… only to realize after I paid that Judah was too short to actually sit and pedal. 😂

So he had to stand and pedal like a tiny Tour de France cyclist while I did most of the work. 🥵It was an absolute LEG BURNER, we nearly tipped straight into a bush, and we could not stop laughing.

10/10 would do it again, when he’s a little taller. 🤣Mom and son adventures never go exactly as planned… but they’re always worth it. This silly boy of mine! 🤪 taken in Virginia Beach Oceanfront by @alison_furderer

There’s a bittersweet part of motherhood no one prepares you for—the part where your baby is growing into his own person right before your eyes.

My firstborn is heading into his last year of elementary school. He’s getting bigger, more independent, and becoming exactly who he’s meant to be. And I LOVE watching him grow.

But I also want to soak up every moment he still lets me hold him.

Last night at sunset, I scooped him up and spun him around like I used to when he was little. For a moment, time stood still. ❤️

This mom-and-son trip to Virginia Beach has given us something so precious: just time together. Laughing, exploring, talking, and making memories.

Because motherhood is learning to let go while still holding on.

Let them grow. Let them become independent. Let them fly.

But while they still let you scoop them up, kiss them, and hold them close…

Soak. It. In.

Because no matter how big they get, they’ll always be our babies.

I will always love you, Judah 🤎 taken in Virginia Beach Oceanfront by @alison_furderer

Some days stay with you forever. 🌊

After a few years apart, getting to be back on Kauaʻi with friends we’ve shared so much life with was such a gift. From homeschool days, afternoons at the skate park, and surf sessions together, to watching our boys reunite and our girls finally meet, it all felt beautifully full circle.

Sharing snacks by the ocean, spotting dolphins and turtles, laughing, exploring, and simply being together reminded me that the simplest moments are often the most meaningful.

Life is so beautiful when it’s shared with people you love. I’m incredibly grateful for the Hamilton ohana, for friendships that have stood the test of time, and for the kind of people who make you feel like you never really left.

Sending all our love from the Carolinas back to Kauaʻi. We miss you all already and are so thankful we got to reconnect. Never miss the chance to tell your people you love them. Some places become home, but the people are what make them unforgettable.

Ohana always. 🌺🤍 @bethanyhamilton @beckyham @kyahhamilton by @alison_furderer

Our little mermaid. 🧜🏻‍♀️🌊🤍

Watching Eden become such a little fish has been one of my greatest joys. At just 2 years old she’s holding her breath, laughing underwater, going down the waterslide by herself, and wanting to do everything her big brother does.

Judah was the same way growing up in Kauaʻi. We never wanted our kids to fear the water—we wanted them to learn to respect it. There’s a big difference. Water safety starts young, and confidence is built one swim, one jump, and one lesson at a time.

Our family just feels most at home in the water. Whether it’s the ocean, a river, a lake, or the pool, these are the memories I hope my kids carry with them forever.

Staying healthy and active isn’t about looking a certain way—it’s about showing up for the people I love. I want my kids to remember a mom who jumped in with them, chased adventures, laughed a lot, and never stopped playing.

Here’s to raising brave little water babies, making summer count, and creating the kind of childhood that stays with them forever. 🤍
