Our little Sadhbhy turns ONE! 😭 Surrounded by her loving grandparents, we celebrated with cake & champagne at home followed by a nice restaurant for dinner that evening.

What a final month of her first year this has been. She dramatically took her first steps at 11.5 months, then promptly decided crawling is much more efficient 🤣 Thank you for capturing the special moment @chef_mommy_dubai 🥰

When selecting these photos, all I can think is how lucky I am to be Mama to such an amazing son and daughter. There’s so much “team boy mom” versus “team girl mom” online, but I’m firmly a centrist on this topic! taken in House Of Hype by @alisonduhan

Jambo Zanzibar! 🇹🇿

Snorkeling and sandbars. Watching hawkers on the beach whilst the tide receeded for miles. Sunset views from a boat cruise. Senan high-fiving every Maasai man he met. The cheapest and freshest seafood platters (we regret not getting photos of 🦞). Being lucky enough to spot a wild Zanzibar red colobus monkey in the trees right outside our guesthouse. Sharing beers and stories by the pool with other travelers. Traversing the winding streets of Stone Town, with its historical building façades and intricate doorways that a young Freddie Mercury once wandered. Street eats at the market (the $1 shawarmas were actually so tasty).

We had stays in Nungwi, Paje and Stone Town, with day trips to Kendwa and Dongwe. No trip is a piece of cake when holidaying with two kids 3 and under, but we enjoy instilling our love of travel in our babies and beautiful family memories were made 🥰 taken in Paje, Zanzibar by @alisonduhan

11 months of Princess Sadhbhy! She’s now got 7.5 teeth 🤭 and loves to play with her brother. She’s a thrill-seeker and mischief-maker who suddenly has enough hair to make little buns 🥹 She’s able to stand unassisted and can squat to pick something up without losing balance (girl’s got a stronger core than I do)! 🏋🏼‍♀️ taken in Dubai Hills Estate by @alisonduhan

10 months old! Her first word is “uh-oh!”, which is used every time she falls on her bum or drops something. We keep thinking any day now, her first independent steps are coming, but she hasn’t made the leap yet. She keeps us on our toes whilst still finding her feet 🙃

She’s officially been earthside as long as she’s been in! 🤰🏼 Looking back on the last days of my bump pics as well as how tiny and doll-like she was once she arrived has me all emotional 🥺

She can now climb the stairs unassisted, pull herself up to standing position and has started to ‘cruise’ around the coffee table and sofa. Also no fragile objects are safe below waist-height. Just when we’d put back our ornaments after Senny! 🥲 My favourite part might be that she now has enough hair to make piggytails with. Shoutout to @chef_mommy_dubai for the rainbow Crocs that could end up as her first shoes! 🫣🌈🐊 taken in Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort by @alisonduhan

When Europe is supposed to run out of jet fuel in a matter of weeks, but @ryanair is offering €50 flights to Italy from @shannon_airport 🤔

🇮🇹🇻🇦 Touristy bits around Rome, Vatican City and Naples: Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Mouth of Truth, Pantheon, Michelangelo’s Moses, Spanish Steps, Capitoline Wolf, day-drinking cheap Spritz through Spaccanapoli and a walk around ancient Herculaneum 🌋 All fueled by the best pizzas and gelatos of our lives. This month, Sadhbh was christened at the same church that I was as a baby in Limerick. We had a lovely baptism celebration with family and friends ⛪️

We also celebrated her first Easter, which happens to be one of my favourite times of year since childhood 🐣

In development news, her bottom teeth have poked through and she has started to army-crawl. On the one hand, it’s so exciting to see her grow, but on the other I can really feel her baby days slipping through my fingers and I find myself willing time to slow down just a little 🥺 taken in St Munchins Church by @alisonduhan
