What draws me most to tattooing as an artistic practice is its profound entanglement with aging, transformation, and decay—forces that resist the sterile pursuit of perfection. In their fading, their blurring, their dialogue with scars and stretch marks, tattoos become testaments to lived experience. They are not static artifacts but dynamic collaborators, bearing witness to the body’s resilience and vulnerability alike. . There is a raw poetry in how ink settles into skin, only to evolve with it—scabbing, stretching, softening—as though the tattoo itself were breathing. It is a rare art form that does not pretend to transcend mortality but instead embraces it, mirroring our own inevitable metamorphosis. A tattoo is never finished; it is a conversation, a collaboration.
