We made bags ~ again 💫✨

To celebrate @jonathankelly_ ‘s solo exhibition at @ioneandmann we collaborated with the artist to design a special edition gallery tote bag!

The drawing Jonathan made for the bag is inspired by his painting ‘Helic Drift’, which is included in the show, but the spiral, the helix, is a form that has always been embedded in his practice 🖤

The first drop is coming soon so you can get yours in the gallery or online, message me if you want to reserve one!

Last few weeks to visit Jonathan’s show 37 degrees / when the gods have left at IONE & MANN, I look forward to seeing you x

The longest of days, the most beautiful light and a different kind of studio ✨🩰

The word solstice has a Latin root and Ancient Greek origin and is derived from the words for sun and standing still (sol/sistere , Helios/ stasis.

I thought I would try it too for a minute.

According to the ancient Athenian lunisolar calendar, the new year would begin after the summer solstice, which I find interesting as much as I love the stillness of the night - a year beginning and ending in light ✨

Congratulations Jonathan for the opening of ‘37 degrees/ when the gods have left’ during the 6th edition of London Gallery Weekend 💥

A mind-bending, transportative, magnetic body of work in a bold new direction that feels like actualisation rather than departure.

More than 10 years on, you continue to amaze me and inspire me with your work. Proud and grateful I get to live with it this summer and beyond 🩷✨🙏

Closing drinks this Saturday 16th to mark the last day of Could You Come to Me.

I love being in this space with all the works

It has been special and an honour to have my work exhibited here at @ioneandmann . Working with @alkistisk and her careful attention has been a pleasure at every step.

There is a quiet harmony between the works - sharing space with @sararossberg and @valentino.vannini.art and yet all the work has something kind of unsettling about it.

We are in the final week of ✨𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙈𝙚 ✨
an inter-generational show about human connection through a distinctly sensual and emotional register.

Isabel Muñoz-Newsome, Sara Rossberg and Valentino Vannini are three artists whose practices are rooted in humanity and lived experience. They approach, process and express their observations differently but always with intention, tenderness and compassion.

They capture moments of urgency, stillness, hope, despair, anticipation, longing, euphoria and oblivion but they seem to meet in the moments ‘in-between’, of simply ‘being’, where intimacy is both felt and negotiated.

GLASS HOUSE IN THE MEADOW

I made a silent promise when we were in bed one morning

I said goodbye to reason and hello to everything

Spring was running in my blood

The plants were pushing me up

I said goodbye to reason and hello to everything

I want to be the water

I want to let you drink

So I built a house of glass

But by it stood a fire

Stuck inside it now and we’re crushing all the flowers

I want to be the water

I want to let you drink

Say goodbye to reason and hello to everything

So this happened yesterday in the gallery and it was the most beautiful reaction to our show 🤍🥹✨

This April marks 10 years since our very first exhibition 🤍

A blink-and-you-‘ll miss it-long show in a temporary space which took months of planning and preparation by IONE & MANN co-founders Alkistis Koukouliou and Beatrice Spengos as it carried the weight of a path that was being forged.

The path twisted and turned and was never made clear but its purpose was - and is ✨

I am grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey so far in all the different ways that this can be; as collaborators, supporters, challengers, guides, and friends.

The show we called the inaugural edition of our Art Rooms remains in my heart as a very special one - not least because of the enduring bonds it created 🤍

I write this having just opened a show with three amazing artists that are new to gallery, but, somehow, it feels like they have always been part of this journey.

Thank you all and let’s keep going forward, together, with love, vision and purpose ✨
