There’s a difference between owning something extraordinary and actually living with it.

A collection isn’t just an accumulation of objects or an exercise in market value.

You learn the watch.
You learn the maker.
You learn why something mattered before everyone else decided it mattered.

With houses like F.P. Journe — and arguably Patek Philippe — access to the irreplaceable at MSRP carries a responsibility: long-term ownership.

Stewardship means understanding what you were fortunate enough to acquire, respecting the relationships that made it possible, and preserving something extraordinary rather than simply extracting value from it.

Discernment. Obtainment. Retainment.

Watches are the lens. Life is the collection.

Have you ever had your world rocked?

In 2015, mine was. I took a hiatus from the watch forums I loved. When personal life is rough, it was tough to care about seemingly trivial collecting…

Things worsened, if that’s possible.

It’s when I realized that at some point, I wanted to find happiness again.

I put a smile on my face, even though I cried every day. You do this for positivity, and imagine the day when it’s real. It’s coming. Have faith. 🙂🤙🏼

I’m not going to lie. It was unbelievably tough. Stay the course, do the work on yourself.

The one thing for me that’s imperative to life…?

The return of Passion to my life- is everything to me, and I’m grateful to and I’ll fuel it with loyalty and good vibes.

My dad passed away 11/11, and initially, I wasn’t going to attend the Journe meeting in LA, but I went three days later.

I didn’t know how I’d respond, but I can tell you that without doing this, my life would be absolutely meaningless.

I traveled to Miami for a big Tiffany and company event, which was phenomenal, and seeing the Journe Boutique folks made it a trip I’ll likely not forget.

Thank you for reading, for sharing in passion, and have an unbelievable weekend.

I do look forward to returning to what we’ve always done in the past…

Get together, and share passion. Passion fuels the Soul.

Mahalo and biggest Aloha friends,

G ❤️🤙🏽

Aloha, my name is Greg. 😌❤️🤙🏼

is it possible to collect on the same level as a financial guru?

Mr. O’Leary is credible and has a great collection. Money makes money. I follow him for his common sensical business approach.🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m sure he has good knowledge of watches. It’s his passion, but he’s spending less than 1% of his net worth. That’s a little different from how I view passion.

I infer that his financial situation is different from most of you out there and mine too. That’s well and good, but I burn when I hear “hobby” related to my collection.

Is it a hobby when your collection is worth double what your two homes are, (even in a LOW market for watches) and a high for real estate- Oahu…

It’s an investment, isn’t it?🤷🏻‍♂️🤓. But even in that, it’s different… I don’t recommend this for everyone but it worked out for me.

Stay tuned- for unique content that you can compare to your own experiences.

You still have the prerogative of taking the advice of that person trying to sell you that piece…. 🤔

Or the affluent…

I’m just here to offer you a third option. 🤓. I’m all in.

A lot of people claim to live for passion. I’m alive BECAUSE of it.

I’m obligated, not entitled. 🤷🏻‍♂️🧡🤙🏼

Lastly, if we aren’t learning, including me, we’re not getting better. Any feedback good or bad, please DM me.

Mahalo for reading. 🙌🏼🙏🏼

I’ve got a long way to go to earn “all world”. 😎🧡🤙🏼

Greg

Public service announcement.

Hacked iPhone by friends in a $10 million scam. For years.

Blessed to have caught this remote live access on my iPhone. Randomly.

I have a screen time lock on my phone. It’s wild. Apple ID related.

They’re messing with my editing as we speak.

I’m grateful to those who live with intention. 🙌🏼

The intended purpose of collecting watches… is… doing it.

You have passion for the watches… the history…
that is what you represent to the brands, is it not?

Explain to me the narrative and the “circumstances” that cause a person to sell and “unfortunately” profit $150-$200k… in a few months time?

Yes, I understand the author isn’t the person. But he likely wishes he was. That’s worse.

Unintentional entitled pretense is an underlying issue that is a problem for society. Tell me I’m wrong.

Speculation buying in 2020 tripled my net worth. I left my biotech career and held onto the watches I believed in—and I still wouldn’t sell them today.

I saw where the market was heading.

Even I could NOT have predicted THIS.

Is there a middle ground between six figures
of equity and….
And pinkie swearing? 🙌🏼

Approximately 5 years of limbo dance… lol

if accurate, is there a way to accelerate the process safely?

*Happy Belated anniversary to the Non speculative source.

Everyone has a story, a narrative.

Achievement is gold standard, supported by documented undisputed fact.

We can achieve success by providing value to others first. Without seeking validation while thinking non-transactionally.

I do try to ride very safely when I’m drinking a frappe in traffic.

Hold me accountable. I’m not an exception to the rule.

Grateful to @zeromotorcycles and @cyclecityltd it’s my zen.❤️🤙🏼

People assume I sold watches. They’re right.

I chose to not profit. I did the opposite and shared.

Why? Because, profit dilutes passion.

@ferrarifan360 (who I don’t know) Assumptions are correct or not. Here to clarify them publicly.

I’ve discovered we succeed by sharing non transactionally and without validation.
This isn’t only about watches, it can parallel anything passion related in life involving people and relationships.

🙌🏼❤️🙏🏼

Mahalo for watching. Stay the course. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽🤙🏼
