This January, it was announced that I was chosen to be a Fellow in this years Alliance of Women Directors @awd_directors Rising Directors Fellowship in @variety. I’ve been a part of the organization in some capacity for the last 10 years. And I’m always amazed by this community. Thank you for all the support you’ve given me.

I was honestly speechless - to have gotten into this program and for my first mention in the trades. I remember the feeling in my face - I blushed and smiled so hard, I couldn’t feel my face. I haven’t posted on here in so long, but this felt appropriate/right to share.

I’m so grateful for our wonderful leaders @kylie109 @lmpowers15 @taraalindsey @nikkibraendlin for all of their hard work and for selecting me to be apart of this years cohort. Excited to go on this journey with all of you. It’s been so nice to learn about you as people and as artists/storytellers @ann.marie.pace @marcellaochoa @tnages @tijuanaricks #aerynmichellewilliams

Thank you to my producing team for going on this Beach House (title changing soon hehe) journey with me. Let’s make this movie! @chrislaughter @melissaleemy grateful to everyone who’s helped me get here.

After moving in with my humans (parents?) I needed a name. With some call and response testing, there were names which felt like they could work but mom and dad weren’t quite sure of the best forever name for me. We invited some besties over for treats, snuggles and a name voting game. There was a clear winner but we couldn’t accept the one single name and decided to give me a full family name. That’s cool, I like variety. When my parents say my first name, I laugh diabolically “bwahahahaha”. When they say my first and middle name together I feel the pressure of family legacy, which I can handle, no problem. And when they say my full name there’s either paperwork to fill out or I’m in trouble— either way. Uh oh. Ok… nice chat. So when is lunch?

Before I went home with my parents, things were pretty chill at @wagmorpets. I was meeting so many people who all really liked to touch me and make goofy high pitched noises. I guess humans think I’m cute… It’s whatever. Anyway, now I’m here with my mom and dad who have cool energy. Mom’s a first time puppy parent and Dad thinks he knows everything, but he doesn’t. They don’t realize I can’t speak English. Maybe they will figure it out sooner or later. When is lunch?

Hello Instagram World!

My name is Risa Moon Hsu. And I’m an Australian Shepherd. My parents are @chrislaughter @allehsu and they found me at @wagmorpets, where they fell in love with me. I am their Christmas gift.

Here’s a little bit about my name - my first name is Risa, which is Laughter in Spanish. My dad has the best last name 😂. My middle name is Moon, since my great great grandfather is Xu Zhimo, and he created the Crescent Moon Society.

“It’s so special to have a blooper make it into a cut. Fun fact- @elizabethhales was so in character in this shot that when she threw the can of pencils, they hit me. I was totally unscathed, but her reaction was genuine and it added so much to this take. Hats off for everyone on the crew letting this take continue the whole way. No one was hurt and we laughed after” 🌻🌻- notes from the DP
