Remembering the sweet souls who were lost in 2025🌈 You were seen, you were loved, and your memory will live on forever within those who made it out and with every new dog that we meet at the shelter. Rest easy sweet babies, I'm sorry you were a victim of a society that failed you at every level. by @allgoodpups_htx
Cheers to 2025 for all the very good pups, the friendships, the love, the heartbreak, and the passion that went into this dogstagram account🥂 We are so thankful for the support we have received from so many wonderful, selfless people along the way💕 Here's to a new year of saving more pups! 🎉 by @allgoodpups_htx
Just two besties, Becca & Alicia, trying to save some dogs🐾 Hello and welcome to our dogfluencer insta where we show off some of the good boys and girls that we meet at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, TX. We started volunteering at BARC in March 2024 because we thought it would be nice to walk some dogs, and then we realized there was a much greater need for meeting dogs and posting pictures and bios to try to save them from the euthanasia list. Houston has a huge stray dog crisis, with many dogs not being spayed and neutered and reproducing at alarming rates. So many of these dogs are living outside and wandering the streets. On top of that, there are negligent dog owners who are dumping their dogs or owners who are in tough financial situations and are unable to properly care for their pets. As a municipal shelter, BARC has to accept all pet surrenders and so they are constantly overcrowded and trying to get these dogs out to adopters and rescues. Euthanasia lists are super unfortunate, but there aren't other options with how many dogs there are living in terrible conditions and how little government funding the shelter receives. These dogs need our help! SHARE, FOSTER, PLEDGE, ADOPT!! Sharing their posts can do so much to get the word out about this crisis! If you are ever interested in fostering, we'd be happy to answer any questions. Rescues cannot pull dogs without local Houston fosters - the time commitment for fostering can vary based on which rescue tags, but it is 100% worth every moment of it to save these dog's lives. Pledges also help a ton to support these rescues with medical costs when they pull these dogs. Every dog will require a vet appt, HW & flea prevention, transport costs to eventually get them out of Texas, potentially spays/neuters, and various other medical emergency costs that can come up since a lot of these dogs haven't been taken well care of previously. And all these dogs need to find good homes, so if you have the capacity to adopt please consider a shelter dog! They are so deserving of living the rest of their lives cuddled up on a comfy couch with their humans 💕 Thanks for joining in on this crazy dog journey with us!! by @allgoodpups_htx
Update: Tagged by a rescue!! 🆘 JENGA is on the euthanasia list TUESDAY 11/3 🆘  💙🐶 JENGA - #A2099830 German Shepherd Mix | Female | 2Y | 57 lbs | HW- Jenga is MY GIRL!! She caught my eye because she was just sitting so politely at the front of her kennel and when I talked to her she leaned against the door and gave me little tail flutters. I opened the door to leash her up and she gave me a biiiiig stretch before calmly trotting alongside me as we walked outside. She sat so patiently in the run for pictures and let me put on whatever ridiculous props that I wanted. She loves her treats and takes them gently from your hand. If you lean down and hug her, she absolutely melts into you. We took some selfies and she was pressing her face into my face, so content to be getting all the love and attention. She did wonderfully on her temp tests and was friendly to the other dogs and showed a little bit of playfulness but was mainly happy to just trot along side them. She's been battling a URI in the shelter and she's also super skinny, has some skin issues that will need a good diet and some TLC, and some leaky eyes that are probably a result of the skin issues. I went back and visited her a week later and I thought she already looked a lot healthier and had a more playful energy, so I really can't wait to see her shine once she's outside of the shelter! This girl is an angel and I think she will be such a special addition to any family🤍 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. If you are local and interested in fostering, please DM us. If you would like to pledge, please comment your pledge amount below and we will update with pledge info if the dog is tagged by a rescue. 📍BARC Animal Shelter  3200 Carr St Houston, TX 77026 www.houstontx.gov/barc #germanshepherdmix #foster #adopt #houston by @allgoodpups_htx
Update: Tagged by a rescue! 🆘 GEMMA will be euthanized TUESDAY, 11/3🆘 💙 #A2101122 Gemma Stray | Female | 2Y | 43lbs | HW- | Shep Mix When I first met Gemma she was more on the shy and timid side but the longer I spent with her the sweeter and more confident she became! Working for her affection is definitely worth it. She started to come to me for kisses and hugs and eventually parked herself in my lap while we watched the dogs in the other runs. She had a 3 way temp test with 2 other female sheps and she did great! She is such a gem and I can’t wait to see her flourish outside the shelter! 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. Update: Tagged by a rescue! 🆘 HOLLY is on the euthanasia list MONDAY 10/26 🆘  💙🐶 HOLLY - #A2102813 Dutch Shepherd Mix | Female | 1Y | 50 lbs | HW- This scared baby has only been given 5 days at the shelter before she was put on the euthanasia list, and she hasn’t even made it to the adoptions floor😭 She’s on the list for behavior since she’s been pancaking in the back of her kennel and not wanting to walk out or back in. When she saw me she curiously came to the front of the kennel, but shied away as soon as I opened the door and approached her with the leash. After some coaxing she let me leash her and was even brave enough to walk out of the kennel herself! In the run she was nervous as first, but opened up quickly and once she does she is such a lover girl! She was also super interested in the dog in the run next to us, although she did get much more nervous once I took her out on the leash to meet her. I’ve noticed that she does get attached to her humans VERY quickly and upset when they leave. She’s a very sensitive girlie who is going to need someone to give her time and patience to come out of her shell and feel more confident about the world. I hope she can get that chance 🤍 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. If you are local and interested in fostering, please DM us. If you would like to pledge, please comment your pledge amount below and we will update with pledge info if the dog is tagged by a rescue. 📍BARC Animal Shelter  3200 Carr St Houston, TX 77026 www.houstontx.gov/barc #dutchshepherd #foster #adopt #Houston by @allgoodpups_htx

Update: safe with @forthesakeofbeinghumane 🆘 MARGE & PUPS will be euthanized MONDAY, 10/25🆘 💙 #A2102719 Marge + 10 pups - RESCUE ONLY Stray | Female | 3Y | 58lbs | HW+ | Shep Mix Momma Marge is pretty immediately interested in whatever you have to offer! She came right up to me and I leashed her up and fed her some treats to give her a break from her puppies. She didn’t want to go too far but didn’t mind being a few steps away. She really didn’t mind me getting close and in her space with her babies there. She has some feral dogs next to her that are really stressing her out, she needs a nice quiet place to take care of her babies. 📝 This pet can only be tagged by a RESCUE group but please remember all rescues need FOSTERS in order to tag this pet and save their life. This pet cannot be fostered or adopted through the shelter. 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. If you are local and interested in fostering, please comment below the post. Update: Adopted! 🆘 KYRA will be euthanized SATURDAY, 10/24🆘 💙 #A2098338 Kyra Stray | Female | 2Y | 46lbs | HW+ | Shep Mix Kyra has been at the shelter now for 25 days and now her time is up. She is on the much more calmer side of being a Shep but I can tell the lack of exercise and mental enrichment is starting to take a toll. She is super clingy and loves to just stare up at you in admiration. Her tail is always swishing while she is with you. I gave her some treats where she took them out to the sun and laid down to enjoy them and then rolled around in the grass. She’s a super sweet and affectionate girl with an old soul. 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. If you are local and interested in fostering, please DM us or comment below the post. Update: Adopted! 🆘 FRANKIE will be euthanized THURSDAY, 10/22🆘 💙 #A2097286 Frankie Stray | Male | 3Y | 64lbs | HW- | Staffie Mix My boy Frankie is a loooooong boi with short legs, a 64lb lowrider. This is the type of dude who has no thoughts and just vibes. He sits nicely for treats, eagerly tries to play with neighbor dogs through the fence, and was friendly on his TT’s with a female and a male. His notes describe him as being quiet in his kennel and wiggly when he greets people, and my notes match that! This is a super sweet boy and if you’ve ever been looking for a staffie/weiner dog combo Frankie is your guy. 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. Update: Safe with a BARC foster 🆘 DOUG will be euthanized WEDNESDAY, 10/21🆘 💙 #A2096645 Doug Stray | Male | 3Y | 47lbs | HW- | Staffie Mix Doug’s owner died and that’s how he ended up here, how confusing that must be for him ☹️ he’s a super chill and stoic dude who minds his own business and checks back in with you for some quick treats and pets. He’s one of those that you have to work to earn his trust but once you do you’re glad you made the effort. For how chill he was he shocked me on his temp test, he started trying to play with the other pup (although he was a bit awkward) and it brought out a different side of him! I can’t wait for him to feel safety and comfort again after losing his owner. 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. Update: safe with @barkaboutitrescue 🆘 DONNIE will be euthanized WEDNESDAY, 10/21🆘 💙 #A2098217 Donnie Stray | Male | 2Y | 50lbs | HW- | Staffie Mix Donnie is all the good things you want in a dog packaged into one. Calm in his kennel and an absolute goofball outside of it. He loved to flip on his belly and wiggle around, he liked to flop in my lap and give kisses, play bowed at the fence line, and even tried to get a scared dog to play. Donnie’s joy for life is contagious and will leave you laughing and wanting more! 📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter.
