✨ CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF A LIFE OF SERVICE, LEADERSHIP & IMPACT ✨

Today, we celebrate an extraordinary woman, mentor, advocate and community leader — @allidsouza , as she marks her 75th birthday. 🎉❤️

Diana is a woman whose life has been defined not simply by achievement, but by service to people.

For decades, she has dedicated herself to education, mentorship, community development, equity and creating opportunities for people who are often underrepresented and underserved. Her remarkable career at the University of Toronto, spanning 38 years, included senior leadership and advocacy roles, and she became a respected voice for students, staff and the wider community. Her contributions have been recognized through numerous honours, including the Order of Ontario, the University of Toronto Chancellor’s Award, the Healthy U of T Award, and multiple community recognitions. She has also been involved in the creation and facilitation of numerous outreach and mentorship initiatives supporting young people, women, seniors, students and other underserved communities. But beyond the titles and awards is the woman we are privileged to know — a woman whose wisdom, compassion, generosity and commitment to empowering others continue to inspire those around her.

We are especially honoured to have Diana as a member of our Board of Directors and as a Board Advisor, lending her experience, wisdom and perspective to our mission.

I was reminded of how deeply interconnected my life has become—with friends and communities across Toronto, Canada, and around the globe, and with the richness of culture, faith, traditions, history, and shared stories that have shaped my journey.

What a gift to look back and see a life woven through so many communities, friendships, and meaningful connections. You made me feel so loved, welcomed, and celebrated.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Diana Alli D’Souza, O.Ont., @allidsouza a member of the Women in Canada Board of Directors, on her selection as a recipient of the 2026 Nelson Mandela Humanitarian Award at the 2026 Excellence Awards presented by Afroglobal Television and Silvertrust Media. 🏆❤️

This is more than an awards ceremony. It is an opportunity to dress up, walk the red carpet, connect with corporate, community and public-sector leaders, enjoy an evening of entertainment and celebration, and be part of a prestigious gathering recognizing excellence and achievement.

The evening will also feature the unveiling of the 100 Most Influential Black Canadians and the inaugural Book of Black Brilliance, while supporting the Crossover Mentorship Program for youth.
