This woman. My woman.

Ten years of marriage, and somehow it still feels like a stroll through the park with my best friend.

I love your endlessly curious mind—how we can go from debating Cicero and Catiline to contemplating the vastness of the universe. How did a fellow nerd end up looking like you? And how did I find someone who giggles with me at the strangest things?

When we first met, I told you the best Doctor was Tom Baker, and you insisted it was Matt Smith. I knew then that you were special—even if you were clearly wrong. When you told me you had started the Russian History Club in high school and I rattled off every single Soviet Premier since 1917, I knew we would never run out of things to talk about.

But more than anything, I treasure the unconditional love you have given me and the kids—and the kindness, peace, and joy you have brought into my life. Words will never be enough to describe the depth of my love for you.

And thank you for encouraging me to pursue my passion for flying. I know it scares you, which makes your support all the more meaningful. That willingness to let someone you love chase the sky—even while part of you wishes he would keep both feet safely on the ground—is one of the truest expressions of love I know.

Happy 10 year to me and whatever forces in the universe let me know him. I have always felt like he was specifically designed for me to love: uncommonly curious, similarly obsessive with his interests, freakishly gorgeous, nerdy, sexy, kind and designed to appreciate this little weirdo. I admire my husband and I’m so glad I’ve found someone with the same capacity for love.
