I have never cried so many happy tears in my entire life 😭 We are Paralympic Bronze Medalists 🥉Sharing this moment with my team means so much to me. Every person on this team has dedicated countless hours into our growth as a program & it feels magical to see that come to life ✨I would do it all again for this outcome with these people.They’re my people. I’m so proud of them.To my inner child that had been hurt so bad: you did it & you will continue to do great things with your disability 😭 and the world is ready to watch & listen to Paralympians 👏🏼I am running out of words because I truly don’t know how to describe how I’m feeling. Hangz in Hangzhou 🇨🇳✨Grateful we got to explore more of ancient town together before our competition was put on pause due to Typhoon Bavi. I guess the calm before the storm is a legit saying? Because we had blue skies this day and the very next was windy and cloudy, with a government order to stay indoors.Just happy everyone was safe & we got back to competition after 24hrs 🙌I love to adventure whenever I can with my team 🥰 happy we took the opportunity to walk to a from ancient town, even in 40 degree heat! by @allisonelang

Explored the ancient town of Hangzhou between volleyball games 🇨🇳I can’t believe my life is: travelling the world to play the sport I love 🤝 hello country #41! As a team, we didn’t have enough time to visit downtown Hangzhou (it was an hour from our hotel), but we had time to explore Tangqi Ancient Town nearby 🙌 and it was so beautiful.Now that my games have come to an end, you can find me gallivanting through China with my dad for a well deserved vacation. Next stop: Shanghai. by @allisonelang

4th place.I’ve rewritten this caption more times than I can count because I still don’t know how I feel.I think it’s because I’m trying to hold space for two emotions that seem to contradict each other.I’m incredibly proud.And I’m incredibly disappointed.A year ago, I don’t think many people would’ve expected us to be competing with the best teams in the world. We’ve grown so much. New teammates have stepped into huge roles, we’ve learned to trust each other, and we’ve gone from losing games to competing for a podium place.That deserves to be celebrated.But I’d be lying if I said this tournament didn’t hurt too.We had two opportunities to qualify for the LA28 Paralympic Games, and we let them slip away.I’ve gone back and forth asking myself whether we crumbled under the pressure… or whether we’re just not ready yet.Maybe it’s a bit of both.As much as I wish I could wrap this up with a neat, inspiring ending, the truth is I’m still sitting with it.Because when you care this much, you’re supposed to hurt.You don’t dedicate years of your life to something and walk away unaffected.The silver lining is that this feeling won’t last forever, but I hope I never forget it 🥲I want to remember exactly how this feels the next time training gets hard. The next time I’m tired, sore, or questioning whether one more rep really matters.Because it does.The thing about being a competitive athlete is that I don’t want success to come easy. If it did, it wouldn’t mean as much. The challenge is what makes chasing it worthwhile.So while 4th place hurts today, it also gives us something incredibly valuable: clarity.We know exactly where the gap is.Now it’s our job to close it.This offseason won’t be about dwelling on what we lost. It’ll be about earning what comes next. Every lift, every practice, every rep is building toward one goal: showing up next year at the Para Pan American Games in Lima 🇵🇪 ready to battle to qualify for LA28.This isn’t the ending I had hoped for.It’s just another chapter in the story we’re still writing as a team.We’ll be back. Let’s talk about the mental side of sport for a hot second 😔😓Elite sport is full of moments that hardly ever make the highlight reel, but I wanna be real with you guys.Today we lost to Team USA 🇺🇸, they won gold in at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, and we love any opportunity to play them because they make us better.And while these photos capture the match, they also capture something else. In a few of them, you can see it written all over my face…When you wear your country’s flag, you don’t just carry your own expectations, you carry the hopes of your teammates, the hard work of your coaches, the belief of your family, and everyone back home cheering you on. It’s a privilege, but it’s also a heavy weight to bear.To be honest, my biggest opponent wasn’t across the net today. It was the disconnect between my mind and my body. I wanted so badly to show up for my team, but mentally I struggled to find the confidence, clarity, and connection that usually allow me to play my best.That’s the hard part about high-performance sport. Sometimes your body is capable, but your mind just can’t quite meet it where you need it to… and you’re confused because you’ve practiced it a million times before. I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only athlete who’s felt this. We celebrate the wins so easily, but the losses (and the internal battles that come with them) deserve space too.Truthfully, going from one game where you play well to one that you struggle in, hurts. A lot.And the quick turnaround between matches at World Champs doesn’t leave much time to dwell on frustrations… because tomorrow, we reset & we go again 🇨🇦♥️Catch us play in the bronze medal match against the host country, China 🇨🇳, at 10am local (8pm MT/10pm ET).Find our game on @worldparavolley #sittingvolleyball #worldchamps #parasport by @allisonelang

WE’RE GOING TO SEMIFINALS 😭🔥🙌 I can’t even begin to put into words how proud of I am our team. We’ve gone through so many changes since Paris 2024 with coaches, staff, and athletes; but one thing has reminded the same: our fiery passion for this sport & drive to become better for each other and for our country. We’re top 4 at World Champs, baby!!We are this much closer 🤏 for a chance to qualify for the LA28 Paralympic Games.
