“Meeting you felt just like walking back into the Last Page. Like I’d spent my whole life there, even if I hadn’t been there for a long time.”

This book has been a long awaited arc read, and I’m so glad I finally got to it! It was a cute romance read to enter summer with, and I’m always a fan of the main characters when they’re avid readers. I loved the environment and the plot of the book, and The Last Page really embraced the hidden magic of New York City.

After Leo, the owner of the Last Page, passes away, Ella starts to prepare for her assumed ownership and management of the beloved bookstore. However, finding out that the bookstore was passed down to Leo’s grandson Henry was not on Ella’s to-do list. When Henry comes to New York City to settle things at the Last Page, Ella wants nothing more but to drive him back to Tenesseee, but a sudden threat in closing the Last Page forces Henry and Ella to band together and save the store.

This entire book was just so fun to read. I loved all of the characters, especially the side characters. My favorite part of a book is when the all of the characters feel whole and complex, and every character featured at the Last Page were more than just simple booksellers. Also, I absolutely LOVED Henry. His southern charm was absolutely adorable, and I love his mom and the way she over romanticizes everything.

Also, I loved the pop culture references and the books and authors that were mentioned in the book. A lot of references felt familiar, and it was fun to spot references that I know.

If you want a sweet romance book based in New York, this is the book for you! It is the sweetest book, and it's perfect for any romance reader.

“Living well and being happy is how we get over our past.”

In anticipation of the Off Campus tv series coming out, I recently read the first book in Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series, The Deal, and it was SUCH a fun read! It was exactly the simplistic read I needed when my schedule was riddled with finals, AP tests, and SATs (woohoo summer!!).

Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham each want something from the other person. Garrett is desperate to keep his GPA up so he can play in the next hockey game, and Hannah is desperate to catch the attention of month-long hallway crush Justin Kohl. So, they make a deal: Hannah agrees to tutor Garrett in exchange for a fake relationship to catch the attention of Justin. Hannah and Garrett only agree to this because they both are certain that they will never catch feelings, but walls start to crumble as they both realize that there is more to each other than just hockey, good grades, and music.

This book was exactly what I needed to be pulled out of my book slump! It was simple, and it had elements that I always like in romance books. Also, I’m such a sucker for found family, and the Deal made me SO excited to continue reading about the other characters in the hockey house.

I also liked how Kennedy explored other topics rather than just hockey and romance. Both Garrett and Hannah have complexities in their characters, and it was written very well. There was good character development for both Hannah and Garrett.

If you are as obsessed with the Off Campus series as I am, then I would ABSOLUTELY pick up The Deal and continue reading about Briar University and the people there. I am so excited The Mistake soon!

“That’s why the song was so short, I decided—because connection, like memories, came in the briefest of flashes.”

I have heard really good things about Deep Cuts for a little over a year now, and for this being a debut novel, Holly Brickley has done a fantastic job! It is such a unique book that transported me into another era of time when I read it.

It is so hard to write an adequate synopsis for this book, but I will say it is about one thing: music. Percy Marks can't play an instrument, sing a song, or let alone hold a tune, but one quality she has picked up is the ability to analyze and critique music. When Percy meets musician Joe Morrow, Percy is more than willing to help him write lyrics and music to make him better. However, as the years go on, their relationship grows to be more complicated as they venture their separate ways. Can Percy grow to find herself even without Joe's music, or will she forever be tied to the wannabe rockstar from California?

Overall, I thought this book was such a great way to commend and highlight music from a changing decade like the 2000s, especially with the addition of music titles. I read a lot of reviews where people believed the amount of music references were unnecessary, but I felt that it was a good way to compare Percy's own life and experiences in that current time.

Another thing that stuck out to me that I liked about Brickley's writing was the small details she added. I felt more immersed in the book when she added a detail as small as "he moved into the next lane without the turn signal." It's unnecessary, but it made the book a little more special for me.

One thing I would say is that the ending felt a little rushed for me. I assumed how it was going to end from the beginning, but I wish that it was a little more planned out rather than just shoved into the end.

If you're a fan of music, especially in the 2000s, I would recommend picking up this messy, music-filled book. It was such a treat to get to read!

“Not difficult. More colorful. I’ve always loved a little color.”

I finished reading this book in March, and I’m still thinking about it to this day! I had heard many positive reviews about this book before I started reading it, and it really lived up to its expectations.

Delilah is an aspiring meteorologist who lands her dream job doing the news…of everything except the weather. Her boss’s main goal seems to be making a fool out of Delilah. When Delilah gets the opportunity to finally broadcast one of the biggest snowstorms of the century, nothing will stop her, especially her snowstorm partner: awkward parking lot rival Jackson Clark, who works at the radio station across the street. However, as proximity forces Delilah and Jackson even closer together, feelings begin to arise. As Delilah and Jackson fall deeper for each other, they both can’t help but wonder if this is real or if the love they feel is just a short escape from reality.

I want to start by saying that I absolutely LOVE Delilah! She has to be one of my favorite characters that I’ve read. I love her messy personality and her optimistic outlook on life. I can relate to her, and I also want to be more like her at the same time.

Also, I am such a fan of Delilah and Jackson’s relationship. I wrote down in my notes around 65 pages in that I was already in love with Delilah and Jackson’s grumpy sunshine behavior. They are both such different people, but they complement each other so well. I also liked that their personalities balanced each other out and truly brought out the best in each other.

If you like a good forced proximity, grumpy-sunshine romance, I would highly recommend picking up And Now, Back To You! I can’t wait for B.K. Borison’s next book in the Heartstrings series, and I will definitely be the first in line to pick it up!

Release date: August 4

“The way his tattoos almost blend in with the art on my skin, like we’re one canvas and two artists.”

Thank you so SO much to @netgalley and @authorbalkhabra for this ARC read of my most-anticipated new release of 2026!! I’ve been the biggest fan of Kian Ishida since Collide, and I have been waiting for his book since the beginning!

Kian Ishida is about to leave Dalton University and begin his professional hockey career, but he wants to fulfill his father’s wish before he leaves: graduate. However, when Kian decides to take one of the hardest classes to complete his credits, he enlists the help of Scarlett Kilner, one of the smartest people at Dalton and, unbeknownst to Kian, his hockey coach’s daughter. Despite Scarlett’s several rejections of private tutoring, Kian and Scarlett strike a deal that will help Kian pass his class and help Scarlett fix her reputation. As Kian’s grades go up, Kian and Scarlett’s relationship does as well. However, Scarlett has never let herself be this close to anyone, like she is with Kian. Will she stay in Kian’s embrace, or will she leave him as heartbroken as other people left her?

I had SUCH a great time reading this book! I’ve been obsessed with the Off the Ice universe and the people in it, and it was so fun to experience these characters once again. Also, I always love the diverse representation in Bal Khabra’s books, but this one is my favorite. The fact that Scarlett is Filipino and truly embraces that heritage is something I’ve never seen in books, and it was so cool to see characters in a book who looked like me. Also, Kian has been one of my favorite characters since the first book, so it was truly a treat to see his perspective in this book. I love his wit and kindness, but it was great to see more layers of him unfold throughout the book.

I absolutely recommend this Embrace and this series to everyone, but especially my hockey fans. This book comes out August 4, so be sure to catch up on this series and pick up this book when you have the chance!

“I want your trouble, and your complications, and everything else that comes with you.”

I was obsessed with the Boys of Tommen series and its characters after Binding 13, but Keeping 13 made me even more obsessed than before! Chloe Walsh does an amazing job at making 600 pages absolutely fly by. I was engaged throughout the story, and now I’m even more excited to continue the series!

The story continues to follow Shannon Lynch and Johnny Kavanagh’s relationship through family turmoil, rugby, and more. I don’t want to give too many details since it’s a continuation of the first book, but Keeping 13 dives so much deeper into every character and their past relationships. Although they all lead such different lives and have such different experiences, it’s amazing to see how they’re all connected through their friend group.

I’m so excited to continue the series through another perspective! I’m going to miss reading the Boys of Tommen series through the eyes of Shannon and Johnny, but I’m really excited to see it through Joey and Aoife’s point of view next!

march recap 🌼

i had such a busy month in march, especially in the last week, but i'm so glad to be back and regularly posting! i've missed this little corner of the internet, and i'm happy to be back!

this month, i was lucky enough to be apart of my school's production of Cinderella, and it was a blast! i've never done anything relating to theater or acting before, so it was such an amazing experience to step out of my comfort zone and do something that i've always wanted to do.

i didn't get through as many books on my tbr as i wanted to, but i found a new five star read (project hail mary!!) as well as get the chance to read just friends by @haleypham !! i saw a lot of controversies about this book, but overall i thought it was a very sweet romance that is perfect for a warm, summer read!

how was your march month?
