Not book related soz but I added some new tats to the ol' collection! I have pretty inactive on Instagram but lurking until I have space for lovely book photos again! These were so spicy but weirdly seem to be my easiest healing 😂 Do you have any tattoos? Any book related ones? Hopefully I'll get some book related tattoos eventually! #tattoos by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Sunday! ✨ QOTD: What is your most recent favourite read? Literally just this second I finished The Devil's by @literarysewer and I was absolutely blown away. I binged this in 2 days and I just couldn't put it down. It was my first book of his and well, it's safe to question why I have waited this long. The First Law has always been on my tbr but I've been so scared I might dislike it. So I read The Devil's and it's definitely clear that I'm in love with the prose, humour and grimdark vibes. The Devils is a 5 star read for me and now I'm very excited to get to all of Joe's other books! I've discovered some new favourite books, series and authors this year. 2026 has been a great reading year for me so far! Another honourable mention is The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E Feist. Have you read The Devils? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #joeabercrombie #fantasylover #fantasybooks #bookshelves #grimdark by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Sunday! ✨ What is next on your tbr? It's been a while since I've posted but I've not got my usual set up book shelves at the moment. However, I have managed to get some temporary book shelves sorted and I have made this little tbr shelf. Let's be real though, my actual tbr is huge if you count all my unread books I own physically and on kindle. So I decided to have a small stack of books that are my priority. Do you see any here that are on your list or ones you have read? I'm very excited for all of these and I've smashed my reading goal this year so I hope to get to these very shortly. #booksofinstagram #bookshelves #fantasylover #fantasybooks #stephenking by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Wednesday! ✨ QOTD: Do you annotate your books? I started annotating some books I have been reading in 2026 as a new year's resolution and I have to say, it really helps me remember the book a lot more. I have a bad habit of forgetting some of the plot of the books I read but annotating has helped these stick into my mind. I also love collecting quotes I love. I don't annotate every book I read and it tends to only be ones I think I'll care the most about and enjoy. I definitely recommend it if you don't mind drawing and writing all over your books 👀 Also shout-out to my new favourite series and author right now! . . . . . . . . . . #raymondefeist #fantasylover #fantasybooks #booksofinstagram by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Tuesday! ✨ QOTD: what puts you off a book or a series? For me it's definitely an unfinished series. Which is ironic for me since A Song of Ice and Fire is my absolute favourite series. However, I have definitely put off The Name of The Wind for this exact reason. I did try and read the first book as a young teenager and wanted to retry again as an adult but the fact the series isn't finished is definitely a turn off. Also some tropes don't really entice me. I really dislike enemies to lovers so usually always avoid books with those tropes in. . . . . . . . . . . . . #thenameofthewind #patrickrothfuss #bookstagramcommunity #booksofinstagram by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Thursday! ✨ QOTD: Do you ever read outside of your usual/favourite genre? My favourite genre is fantasy but sometimes I'll broaden my horizon and read some horror, sci fi, romance, classics or contemporary. One of my favourite books I've found from stepping out of my comfort zone was definitely 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I wouldn't even really know what genre to put this in as it's not really horror but I love this book so much. I am definitely going to reread this one day. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #stephenking #booksofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagramcommunity by @allomantic_reader
✨ April Reading Wrap up! ✨ Wow what a reading month. I went from being in a slump in February/March to absolutely binging a bunch of books in April. (Eight to be precise!) I have started some new series, some of which I will continue and one which I will not (Sorry Lunar Chronicles!) Magician was an absolute stand out for me in April. And 850+ page book I managed to binge in just 2 weeks which is impressive work for me. I'm hoping to pick up the final two in this series this weekend and hopefully finish them soon. This is the rare occasion where I want to read all of Raymond's works and he might become a favourite of mine. Paladins Hope was a fun read, I loved it way more than book 2 after struggling a little. I hope to keep this momentum into May and get a bunch more of my physical tbr done and dusted 💅🏼 #fantasylover #fantasybooks #aprilwrapup #reader #booksofinstagram by @allomantic_reader
🌿 Happy #sundayshelfie 🌿 QOTD: how do you organise your bookshelves? By colour? Alphabetically? By author? I love the shelves that are organised by colour, but personally mine are just by series/author. My special editions tend to stay together and then I have a separate bookshelf for paperbacks. . . . . . . . . . . . . #booksofinstagram #fantasylover #fantasybooks #specialeditionbooks by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Saturday! ✨ QOTD: what is a favourite book series or world? I absolutely love A Song of Ice and Fire. For me, I love George R.R. Martin's worldbuilding, detailed descriptions and the fact he's definitely not scared to make some brave story and character decisions ⚔️🗡️ I'm a sucker for character deaths! I also love how expansive this world is and how his books transcend eras. It's so cool reading the main series and then reading Easter eggs for previous times such as Dunk and Egg and the older Targaryen families, and then having those stories actually be built upon in separate books. Yes the main series isn't finished, but it will always hold a special place in my heart regardless. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #gameofthrones #asongoficeandfire #highfantasy #georgerrmartin #fantasylover by @allomantic_reader
Happy Thursday! QOTD: Do you have a favourite trope or sub genre of fantasy? I think that I've come to the decision that high fantasy is definitely a favourite sub genre for me. I'm all about a long journey/quest, the battle between good and evil, detailed world building (this is a must for me), magic systems and magical creatures. Magician by Raymond E Feist is really delivering on this so far and I'm excited to keep annotating this one. It's in the running for a favourite book of mine and I feel I will pick up books 2&3 very soon afterwards. Raymond definitely up there with the likes of Brandon Sanderson, George R. R Martin and Michael J Sullivan in terms of favourite authors. I've definitely been on a high fantasy hype as I also read Crystal Shard last month which is a book from the Dungeons and Dragons universe. I was in such a reading slump in January and February so who knew all I needed was my favourite genre to get me back on track. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #riftwarsaga #raymondefeist #magician #booksofinstagram #fantasylover by @allomantic_reader
✨ Happy Friday! ✨ QOTD: what is a series you need to get back to? I absolutely LOVED Michael J Sullivan's Riyria series but I am yet to finish The Legends of The First Empire. I read book 1 but just never continued so I think I might need to reread it. I also haven't read Drumindor yet which is book 5 in the Riyria Chronicles. I definitely need to pick that up soon, there's just so many books to read and my reading has been so slow recently. Have you read any of these books? . . . . . . . . . . . . #bookstagram #michaeljsullivan #riyriachronicles #legendsofthefirstempire by @allomantic_reader
✨ Thank you so much to @matthewwolfauthor for sending me this book to review! ✨ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was lucky enough to receive Heart of Flesh which is book five of The Ronin Saga but it can be read without having read the others. This book follows Gray, Ayva & Helix who strive to become the greatest warrior in Farhaven by collecting the nine elemental stones. Whilst they are on their journey, a grand evil rises; a shadow that threatens to consume the world. This epic fantasy was definitely a very fast paced read for me. I've seen a lot of reviews say how this was a great installment to develop the Ronin characters from the previous books, however coming at it from my first entry into this series was just as wholesome. The characters felt well developed and the world was expansive. The book is long at almost 600 pages but my interest didn't reduce at all. This edition I was sent is also absolutely stunning and I can't wait to collect the other books in these editions and see where the story of the Ronin's began. #bookreview #bookstagramcommunity by @allomantic_reader
