Recording at @cafe_1001 is always a special experience for me. This was my third recorded session for Radio 1001, a programme invites creativity and curiosity 🧡

The set was largely improvised, except for one record I knew I wanted to include: @matthiasvogtmusic’s Pianissimo, a beautiful 2022 album dedicated to climate change (the last track of the recording is a session of interviews from this album!)

🔗You can watch the full session via the link in bio.
And please excuse the hiss in the first track - the occasional mystery of vinyl.

A little ambient, a little experimental - 💆🏻‍♀️the kind of sounds I tend to explore when I’m not playing funk & soul, fusion jazz, or house.

I often start with a pen and sketchpad, sitting quietly in a space, letting time stretch a little. Sometimes, I return to the drawing later with colour - layering memory and warmth 😊

The colouring process has become an important and therapeutic part of my illustration practice. It brings me back to the moment of sketching: the flavours in the air, the background sounds, the temperature of the day, the rhythm of the space.

✏️ This drawing is of @casamarro, one of my favourite cafés in Milan - a place I return to, both in person and on paper.

Girls, girls, girls 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️
Last night at @bambi_e8 started gently around the dining tables but soon turned into a dance night - the crowd was ready to move early on! 😆

So happy to see everyone vibing with my selection, it was a dreamy Saturday evening. Now, ready for a change of pace: enjoying this rare sunny Sunday, slowing things down a little, working on my ceramic projects, etc., and preparing some ambient & experimental sounds for @voices_radio this coming Tuesday at 11am GMT 🌿

September from Paris to Rome 🔌
The 2/3 Virgo month was full of beautiful moments although some feel like so far away already, others are like yesterday 🧡

Never too many or too much coffee, cinema, exhibitions, strolling around, golden hours, and good restaurants, but probably too many cakes and pastries - nevertheless they are among many delightful things in the chaotic world :) by @allthegoodthings_etc

Some Parisians I doodled over a coffee (cafes are some of the best places to observe people & draw);

Some others I captured while walking around the city.

Summer trip part 3: Stockholm and some of those moments that brought me joy, a sense of calmness, fresh air, new perspectives, and the opportunity to live like a local (wherever I go).

4th time in the city and definitely not the last time. See you soon 🌿

PS, no, locals don't go on the upper deck of a hop-on hop-off bus 😆but hey, once in a lifetime you need it for seeing & discovering your city like a tourist - keep up the curiosity!

Stockholm always makes me feel a little at home. There’s something familiar about the city, and about the places I’ve grown attached to along the way - Hosoi @hosoisthlm is certainly one of them.

Last weekend I returned for another vinyl set, this time with ambient and downtempo sounds, along with some jazz woven in.

Some places are special because of what happens there. Others become special simply because of what they come to hold.

It felt meaningful to be back. The room, the music, the familiar feeling of sharing records with people who are there to really listen - some things felt exactly as I remembered them, and some things felt very different.

Thank you for having me back 🤍

Days back home in London this summer - part 2:

Work with clay for @xzstudio___ with the familiar “hands on” energy of playing vinyl sets / more vinyl sets of course / more gatherings that contain the dishes we missed / market strolls / evening walks / exhibitions and get inspired / live music and grab the spirit of the lively summer 🌿

(somehow all these feel like ages ago, but my heart is always close to London)

Always and forever vinyl sets / walk in the green, wander in the city / cinema cinema / Sunday roast is the best roast / time well spent in the parks / more music, more coffee, more cinema / appreciate the sunshine, art, food, breeze and any moments to slow down 🌿

Enjoy being a guest as much as I can, host rooms for as many good vibes as I play.
