Some hills are serious.
Some are biblical.
Some are cultural.
Some are deeply personal.

And apparently some involve coffee and refusing to go to bed with dishes in the sink. 😂

But here’s the thing about conviction:

If you only stand for something when it’s popular, comfortable, or applauded… it isn’t much of a conviction.

You should know what you believe.
Know why you believe it.
And be willing to stand on it when the room doesn’t agree.

These are a few of my hills.

Some might make you nod.
Some might make you laugh.
And I’m pretty sure a few will ruffle some feathers.

Your turn. What’s a hill you will absolutely die on—every single time?? by @allysonroweschaffer

Father wounds don’t stay in childhood.

They follow women into relationships, identity, self-worth, and even the way they see God.

You may have an earthly father who left, was absent, or didn’t know how to validate you.
But you are so loved by your Heavenly Father Who never leaves, never forsakes, and has called you chosen from the beginning. 🤍 by @allysonroweschaffer

We love the idea of being chosen.
We just don’t always love the process that comes with it.

Because throughout Scripture, God had a pattern:
Before there was impact, there was isolation.
Before there was promotion, there was pruning.
Before there was influence, there was surrender.

Women like Hannah, Mary, and Esther all carried burdens before they carried breakthrough.

And maybe that’s why this message resonates with so many women.

Because you know what it feels like to be stretched.
To be misunderstood.
To be carrying something nobody else can see.
To keep showing up when you’re tired.
To keep trusting when you don’t have all the answers.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

The women God is preparing often feel lonely, refined, and uncomfortable.

Not because He has abandoned them.
But because He is teaching them to depend on His voice more than the approval of others.

So if this season feels heavy...
Don’t rush it.

God is often doing His deepest work in the seasons nobody applauds.

And what feels like pruning today may be preparation for what He’s calling you to tomorrow. by @allysonroweschaffer

Maybe you don’t have the words for it yet.

You just know something has shifted.

You keep thinking about it.
Praying about it.
Seeing the need for it.
Feeling pulled toward it.

And every time you convince yourself to let it go…it comes back.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

A burden isn’t always the blueprint. Sometimes it’s the beginning.

You don’t need to manufacture clarity God hasn’t given you yet.

Bring it to Him.
Test it against His Word.
Surrender your motives.
Prepare quietly.
And obey what He’s already made clear.

Because sometimes we’re asking God for the entire plan while He’s waiting for us to move on the first instruction.

You keep waiting for the blueprint.
God keeps giving you a brick.

Lay it.

And trust Him with what comes next. 🤍 by @allysonroweschaffer

You’re waiting for people to believe in something God never told them about.

And maybe that’s why their lack of support has made you question your obedience.

Because when God calls you into something you’ve never done before, there may be no résumé to prove you can do it. No blueprint. No guarantee it’ll work. And sometimes, no one standing beside you saying, “I believe in you.”

But their inability to see it doesn’t mean God didn’t say it. by @allysonroweschaffer

I wasn’t going to post today.

Not because I don’t have something to say. I do.
But talking about Charlie doesn’t get easier.

Because one year later, I still don’t really know what to say about a world without Charlie.

I still have moments where I think,
“Charlie would have something to say about this.”

And then I remember… he’s gone.

One year without his voice. His laughter. His debates. His leadership. His friendship.

One year without a husband coming home to his wife.
One year without a father coming home to his children.

And that’s the Charlie I want remembered.

A husband. A father. A friend. A leader. A servant.

He believed our freedom was worth fighting for—the freedom to speak, disagree, debate, question, persuade, and even be wrong.

And in the cruelest irony imaginable, the very freedom he fought to protect was taken from him.

They took away his choice.
But they could not take his conviction.

Charlie stood anyway.

And now it’s our turn.

We’re not backing down.
We’re not going quiet.
We’re not afraid of the hard rooms or the hard conversations.

Because the legacy Charlie left behind was never meant to be admired from a distance.

It was meant to be carried.

So we’ll carry it.

We’ll speak.
We’ll stand.
We’ll debate.
We’ll fight for what we believe is right.
And when it costs us something, we’ll stand anyway.

Because Charlie spent his life carrying the torch for something bigger than himself.

Now it’s in our hands.

But more than anything, I hope we carry forward what mattered most: the Gospel.

Because the ultimate victory was never political.

It was eternal.

So Charlie, you carried the torch until your final breath.
Now we carry it for you.

We’ll keep standing.
We’ll keep speaking.
We’ll keep pointing people to Jesus.

Let’s make heaven crowded. by @allysonroweschaffer

We need to bring back buck up, buttercup.

Because somewhere along the way, “I don’t feel like it” became a legitimate reason not to.

We’ve built an entire culture around avoiding discomfort.

Too tired? Don’t.
Too hard? Quit.
Offended? Someone needs to fix it.
Uncomfortable? Call it a boundary.
Don’t feel motivated? Wait until you do.

No.

Sometimes you’re tired.
Sometimes you’re uncomfortable.
Sometimes you’re ticked off.
Sometimes you don’t feel like doing the dang thing.

DO IT ANYWAY.

Your feelings are not your boss.

You don’t get to rewrite what’s true every time you don’t like how the truth feels.

Buck up, buttercup.
Do what needs to be done.
And I say that with all the love. 🤍 by @allysonroweschaffer

There is something so powerful when mothers and daughters gather in the same room.

A room where we get to pray for the generations coming after us, love on them, speak life over them, and choose to connect, heal, and unite around Jesus.

I love this room ❤️

A room filled with daughters of God, girls, women yielding to Him, hungry for more of Him, and believing that what He is doing in us is not just for us, but for the generations that come after us!!!

This is what the Kingdom looks like.
Generations standing together.
Hearts surrendered to Jesus.
Mothers covering daughters.
Daughters rising.
And a legacy of faith being built in His presence.

This is more than a gathering.
This is kingdom family.
This is legacy.
This is the representation of heaven we get to carry on earth!!

Jesus, have Your way in us and through us, for our daughters, our mothers, and every generation to come. 🙏❤️ this is a deep cry of my heart!!

I’m crying over a blank box on a first day of preschool board tonight.

And I almost didn’t share this because it feels so small when I say it out loud.

But I think another special needs mama will understand why it doesn’t feel small at all.

I’ve filled these boards out for both of my boys for the last couple years. With my oldest, I ask the questions and he tells me the answers.

Tonight I was filling out Jace’s.
Then I got to:

“When I grow up I want to be…”

And I just stared at it.

Because I don’t know.

I have never heard my son tell me what he wants to be when he grows up.

That hurts to type.

Jace talks all day long. He babbles. He signs. We use pictures. And because I’m with him every day, I understand so much of his language. Most of the time, I’m the one translating Jace to the rest of the world.

But I can’t translate an answer he hasn’t been able to give me.

Last year I wrote “professional banana eater” because he loves bananas. It was cute. It was funny.

But tonight it didn’t feel funny.

Because underneath the cute answer was the truth:

I made it up because my son couldn’t tell me.
And now another year has passed.

He’s four.
And he still can’t tell me.

Maybe he doesn’t understand the question yet. Maybe there’s an answer inside that beautiful little mind and he just can’t get it out.

I don’t care if the answer is firefighter, Batman, dinosaur, or professional banana eater.

I just want to hear his answer.

Sometimes special needs motherhood isn’t the diagnosis or the appointments or the therapy.

Sometimes it’s a tiny blank box on a preschool sign that knocks the wind out of you.

And the grief isn’t that I want a different child.

I don’t.

I want things to be easier for the child I have.
I want the world to understand him.
I want to hear the things I can’t interpret for him.

And I have to remind myself that even when I don’t know what’s inside his mind, God does. He knows every word Jace can’t yet say. He knows every part of him I can’t access. He knows the future I can’t see.

So tonight, I’m leaving the box blank.

But because it’s Jace’s answer. Not mine.

And I’m still waiting to hear it. 🤍 by @allysonroweschaffer

Maybe you’re not waiting on God.

Maybe you’re waiting for Him to change His answer.

We can pray for clarity over and over, but sometimes the clearest thing God has already given us is the thing we keep avoiding.

Obedience won’t always feel peaceful at first.
It won’t always be understood.
It won’t always be convenient.
And it definitely won’t always preserve your comfort.

But delayed obedience is still disobedience.

So before you ask God for another sign, another confirmation, another open door…

go back to the last thing He already made clear.

Your next step may not require more revelation.

It may just require your yes.

Save this for the season when obedience feels costly. by @allysonroweschaffer

You can eat the “right” number of calories and still be completely under-fueling what you’re asking your body to do.

Because calories and macros are not the same conversation.

Calories tell you how much energy you’re consuming.

Macros tell you what that energy is made of — and whether you’re giving your body the protein to build and repair muscle, the carbohydrates to fuel your training, and the fats it needs for essential function.

This was one of the biggest shifts in how I approached changing my body composition:

I stopped asking, “How little can I eat?”

And started asking, “What does my body actually need to build what I’m asking it to build?”

If your goal is to get stronger, build muscle and change your body composition, nutrition isn’t something happening separately from your training.

It’s part of the training.

You don’t need to obsess over numbers.
But you should understand them.

Save this one. Macros 101 starts here. 🤍

One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to learn:

Just because the anointing remains doesn’t mean the assignment does.

Sometimes God asks us to lay down things He really did call us to.

Things He blessed.
Things He used.
Things we were good at.
Things that became deeply woven into who we thought we were.

And maybe that’s why surrender hurts so much.

Because somewhere along the way, we can start loving the assignment more than the One who gave it.

We assume because the gift is still there, we must still be called to use it there.

But your gift is not your assignment.

And you don’t have to cling to an old assignment because you’re afraid God will never use your gift again.

If He gave you the gift, He knows exactly where He intends to use it next.

Sometimes faithfulness looks like building.

Sometimes it looks like staying.

And sometimes it looks like laying something incredibly precious on the altar and saying:

“God, I choose You over being used by You.”

The assignment was never the prize.

He was. by @allysonroweschaffer
