“The Moths & the Flame” is in the “Best of Fest” section @idfafestival 2026. Come November we are screening at the world’s largest film festival dedicated to nonfiction storytelling. Thank you for highlighting Pahokee fathers! Their dreams & voices inspired this project and it’s an honor to share it with audiences in Amsterdam. We mixed Florida visuals, metaphysical music & knowledge to depict the metamorphosis that is fatherhood. Peace & love ❤️ taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @almostbarbaric

2005. In middle school and “protesting” a new rule the school set against certain black clothing (band shirts, those hot topic chain pants, fingerless fish net gloves, etc.) because they thought it was gonna “make” us gay, anti-social, and/or aggressive. It wasn’t that many of us, but we knew how we felt about a stupid rule that made no sense and only targeted a small group. So we showed up in the best way we could as 11-13 y.o. kids. by @almostbarbaric

Joyful to have been a part of this film and to have worked with you, @askeda 💕 The Moths & The Flame is a beautiful film about the many chapters fatherhood has to offer. Thank you to the wonderful people of Pahokee for letting us get to know you for almost a decade now. See you in Berlin #berlinale #themothsandtheflame by @almostbarbaric
